10% off bikes at Halfords this weekend:

However, anyone know if they have got wise to the voucher trick? Cant seem to log-in to the business site to buy the vouchers 10% off...
UPDATE!
20% off all Boardman bikes today (flash website sale) - so the FS Pro is £1,199
Will use my BC discount for another £120 off, and managed to get the voucher website working too... so *should* be getting this badboy for ~£971... and ordered through Quidco so should get ~£30 cashback on that too...

Give it a whirl, but when I was in they mentioned you couldn't use any extra discounts with the BC one (although it worked for me on my previous bike)

Still waiting for my vouchers frown

It *should* work - when you do a reserve online/collect in store thing you have an order locked at the sale price which comes up on their till.
Your BC card gives you 10% more off vs Joe Public that doesn't have the card, so by rights they should honour it.

What definitely doesn't work is applying two discount codes online - I tried the code I referenced above (for 10%) and it over-rode the automatic 20% off they have today (so I removed it)

Worrying you don't have the vouchers! When did you order them? Did you pay the £7 for recorded/insured delivery? I didn't want >£1100 of vouchers floating around for the postman to nick...

I recently purchased the Pro Hardtail as a donor bike, got with 10% off, followed by 10% BC discount in store plus the 10% vouchers, bought many things this way and they never argue.

I have a reloadable card now, it's instant at adding balances so I don't have to wait for vouchers smile mine is through a work scheme though and previously never had to pay for the recorded delivery either!

It's tempting to buy another bike...

Phoned up about the vouchers to be told they didn't send them out, as it was a large amount. They said they would chase them up ASAP.
Got a call 30 minutes later and they have run out of stock of the £20 vouchers and were waiting for more, unless I wanted the lot in tens.
I queried why they had already taken my money if they didn't have stock and they couldn't give me an answer.
I've missed the 20% off which is a pain

Always over at Swinley biggrin probably twice a week, usually during the week as I'm a shift worker.
Going there on Sunday with some friends, was hoping to have the new bike

Just picked mine up!

Just put some old M520 pedals on for now, then the upgradings will start (nicer pedals, maybe a dropper post)
Paid £971 for this, due to the 20% off, BC discount, and the voucher trick. Plus I should have ~£35 quidco cashback coming my way in a couple of months. That's a hell of a lot of bike for the money....

Just set the pressures up and tightened some of the bolts, and am having a coffee and admiring it while its all clean. Then maybe i'll take it for a spin before it gets dark!

Oh, i'd better get a BETD hanger ordered while I think of it...

Vouchers arrived and picking up the bike Friday. Hoping the 20% is still running then, as that'll be a huge saving

You have reserved the bike haven't you? If not, do it - they email you the order reference and it will state the price on it (ie, £1200). Then you do the BC and vouchers in store.

Hope the recovery goes well!
I'm really interested to see how the Reverb goes on. Doing it yourself of getting the LBS to? Does it require cutting/bleeding of the cable?
Are you concerned by the appalling reliability record of the reverb? My mate is on his 3rd I think... on the other hand, they seem happy to keep sending replacements out no-questions-asked, so you cant fault the customer service I guess! So i'll probably go for one of those too and just keep the standard seatpost close to hand...

Set the shock at 175psi for starters... (I'm ~12 stone, or a shade under) i'll take it for a quick spin round Swinley tomorrow after work and see whats what smile

I was a bit concerned about the reliability of the reverb but chain reaction had them at a good price combined with the BC 10% discount, going to try and fit them myself, no fitting instructions included but there is a good vid on YouTube.

My rear shock is about 190psi.

Looks like the bike has sold out now, or halfords have taken it off sale while the offers on?

Re the reverb, I have been running them for a few years now, I've had one replaced in that time and feel my current one may need replacing soon (coming up for 2years old) it's still reliable but just showing a couple of signs like the previous one did... My local LBS said the new ones have been improved.

I'm circa 98kg currently was probably 105-110kg upto recently so don't know if that had an affect on the seat post.

RS4AL/Jackal - can either of you tell me if your shock locks out (either fully or partially)?
Mine doesnt (though it has the lever that swings 90 degrees)

Im wondering if they have deliberately disabled it considering the forks dont have a lockout - maybe they thought it didnt make sense?

On the other hand, im wondering whether to even bother asking Halfords for a replacement - its rare i would ever lock it out anyway...
