Hey all

Thinking about buying a used 2011 Specialized Enduro, owner wants 920 quid. It's in Germany, where I live, so the price is probably daft by UK standards!

Anyone ever ridden one, or even better owned one? Any advice gladly received!

I'm not exactly fully qualified to comment but I ride a 2011 Specialized Pitch Pro, and have had a couple of rides on a mate's S-Works Enduro 29er. They're awesome. Period. If it fits you and you're happy with the price (it's not even that bad!), buy it.

Thanks, think I'll do it!

:-) I should expand a little more - although it has the declining 26" wheel size, there are lots of other points to recommend it; it's a tapered head tube (unlike my Pitch) so your choice of forks is vastly wider and can use 650b forks if you need, it still has a proper threaded bottom bracket shell so no press-fit woes, it has a stock Fox rear shock as opposed to the custom yoke ones on the Stumpjumper/newer Enduro so easier to get a replacement, it already appears to have the later Blacklite Command Post dropper which are awesome and reliable, and Specialized were one of the first big brands to use the long/low/slack geometry that pretty much everyone now does - my medium 2011 Pitch with 170mm Lyriks has the same reach as most current large bikes, and is just as slack.

Apparently Spesh created the 650b Enduro by using the 26" front end, so that's probably even an option!

Cant comment on a 2011 Enduro but have an 08 Enduro and love it. I did think about trading in for a Norco Sight but as its the same geo I kept the Spesh and gave it a paint job and new bearings. They are fantastic all rounders and you wont be disappointed.

Same as above. Have an 08 model and its great. If the new ones have evolved to be even better then you should really enjoy it!

I have a 650b enduro. It's great. Cant imagine a 26" will be that different.

Had one a 2010 comp, Lyrik is brilliant, I spent a fortune converting it to mission control only to be disappointed with the result though may have been expecting too much, quite an expensive fork in the day. Bars might feel narrow by todays standards - think they were 680 risers?
Not the lightest of bikes mind, think in medium they were 32lbs? But a decent bike none the less.
My wife used to ride it and it started her off riding again as it was such a stable forgiving bike.

Sadly got nicked along with my HT...

If they're Lyriks with the U turn stuff check it'w working properly (doesn't keep falling into the travel), or a service will get expensive.

I had a 2011 enduro, really nice bike!
It was great going downhill, would soak up pretty much everything you could throw at it. Didn't feel too far off a DH bike.

It was my only MTB at the time and did sometimes feel a bit much for alot of the riding I was doing. It's a fairly heavy bike and doesn't pedal the best, but great fun on the really rough stuff!

This was my 2012 Enduro, pedalled as well up hill as anything his side of a newer 29er (that's the opinion of a downhiller anyway!) and was awesome downhill. I preferred it with the 36's on the front compared to the 4 I've had with lyriks.

Buy it, even if it is over priced.
