Fulcrum Racing 5LG - Warranty
Discussion
LBS have advised that the bearings are shot in my Racing 5 LG free hub - as evidenced by the cassette rocking.
Bit miffed as the wheels are only just over a year old with less than a years usage as it wasn't ridden over winter. No real wet weather cycling and no jet washing etc.
Have tried looking at the paperwork that came with them and online and can find no mention of warranty period - anyone know what length warranty Fulcrum offer or have experience of chasing up a warranty claim (they were purchased via wiggle)
Cheers

Not that this is of any help but I had to replace my bearings within four months and need to do them again now, which is probably about four months since the last replacement. They have ridden through all weather as I commute daily and they have done about 6000km.
I found the Fulcrum bearings as a set of four for about £15 and the LBS fit them but I shall be doing them myself this time.
I have heard them last longer to be honest and would expect them to but I would have thought they are regarded as a consumable and wouldn't get any joy through a warranty claim but I'd be interested to hear what they say if you do speak with them.
Good luck

EU law states that all goods, used correctly, must work as intended and be guaranteed against failure for a minimum of two years.

Your warranty is with Wiggle though, not Fulcrum, so you'd need to speak to them.
Edit: I replaced bearings in my 1 year old Fulcrum 5 LGs too, but that is only because I was replacing a spoke and cleaning them up and sticking in a couple of new bearings at a pound or so each seemed prudent.
IMO the 'CX' ability of these is overstated. Yes, cartridge bearings are better for grime etc. but there is almost no other protection bar a loose-fitting plastic cap. I never pressure washed them either but the outside of the bearing was full of grit and grime and made it feel rough and horrible. Once out and cleaned up though, the actual bearings seemed fine though and the inner side of the hub was pristine, but wheels designed for CX-type conditions could not even protect against against even normal road use though a UK winter.
