Seems ages since we all had a spin round Swinley - anyone at a loose end this Sunday (7th Aug)?
Forecast is looking good, and although theres some rain due this week, it could do with some moisture up there as its a bit dry at the mo.

Usual plan - meet at 10am, for a 10:10 start, doing Blue & Red, and any other "off-piste" routes if we end up having some spare time and/or people want to avoid getting back to their families.
However, if no-one wants to hire a bike or use the facilities at the lookout, we could start (and finish) earlier.

Anyone up ferret?

I've checked with my wife - she doesn't have plans that include me, as she's busy essay-writing for a course she's doing. So I'll put myself down as Oasis for this one...

Whatever. Right now Sunday feels like Half The World Away, but Don't Go Away. Listen Up, because Little By Little the days will Fade In-Out, the sun will Cast No Shadow, and Up In The Sky there'll probably be a Cloudburst. But Hey Now, Bring It On Down. If it's muddy we'll just have to Roll With It, and maybe Slide Away, but whatever you do, Don't Look Back In Anger.

Some Might Say you've come up with The Masterplan, so Stand By Me and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. You're a Force Of Nature, so Stay Young and Go Let It Out (but not the Morning Glory though, eh!). Lord Don't Slow Me Down when I get that Sunday Morning Call. (It's Good) To Be Free Underneath The Sky, so don't Fade Away - be the Better Man and say Hello. I Hope, I Think, I Know that my pace around Swinley? It's Getting Better (Man!!). I ought to not tempt fate. Maybe keep My Big Mouth shut. The trails, after all, are a One Way Road and I don't want to be Falling Down. If it's busy we'll have to be Part Of The Queue for The Turning, and while we are Waiting For The Rapture we can dream the Idler's Dream. Set an alarm, so that A Bell Will Ring, and on Sunday morning you can truly feel Alive...

...I Am The Walrus. Definitely. Maybe wink

I should be there with a few mates if my Rockshox through axle comes in time. Fingers crossed the new PH jersey will also be here. Normally get to the downhill section around 10:30 as I enter from the Camberley end

We normally get there by about 11.30, due to the amount of chinwagging that goes on up to that point! biggrin
Anyway, maybe see you about then, Boardman Brother.

Think its a bit behind schedule. Due to the infamous "ground nesting birds", some of the work requiring machinery will not be starting UNTIL September (!).
Also, that work actually includes something which is a good idea - Blue and Red downhill runs which will allow people like me to learn the basics, rather than potentially having a go at the black run and breaking my neck. In short, expect it open by Christmas... (2016 hopefully)

I was up there one evening last week and Colin (the main trail builder) and his buddies were testing out the main line - hopefully you can see these vids:

Anyway, even if you cant make it this time, hit me up if you are coming over another weekend and i'll see if I can join you.

Buuuuuump!

Unusual lack of interest in a bike ride. This being a cycling sub forum and all...

Anyone up for a Sunday trundle around glorious Swinley Forest this coming Sunday? Anyone?

I'd have been interested however it's Goodwood breakfast club tomorrow and I only have my CX bike to hand so wouldn't be as quick as you guys.

Mainly XC with a few DH sections and a jump area although these are being redeveloped at present. A great venue and completely different to swinley of 10 years ago.

Meeting my mates at 10:30 on the A30 entrance at Camberley
Start with the downhill section, then some blue and red to the lookout for a coffee and then blue and red back out to Camberley

Might see you up there then Furry!

Anyone else, I'm meeting Yellowjack and a non-PH buddy around 10am at the trail start. May or may not be in a PH top, but I'm on a blue Boardman full sus. Have a good day whatever y'all do!
