I'm up for this.
The only decent bits you miss doing that is pot of gold and the black options/Tom, dick n Harry.
Considering they are the two best bits on the hill, with the exception of upper/lower cliff, i'd rather we didn't miss those out....... ;-)

Maybe we can have a slower group skipping those bits - the only time I rode the Monkey I came off on "Dick" and wimped out on "Harry".

So is it 5:00pm or 5:30pm at Marquis Drive?

Shall we call it 5 to give us some breathing room? We'll be in the mighty Skoda Octavia Long Termer and I'll put a PH flag up to show where we are!

Pot of gold is fine(smooth & wide) as long as you don't go mad with speed lust!

The black options are all, er, optional so you can ride straight round them ;-)

I assume we are talking about the west end of Marquis drive, rather than the railway crossing end at the start of the Monkey?

(ie here MarquisDrive )

ok, cool. I'll aim to be there about 4.30 to give some chatter time before we set off! (there's also a nice log for practicing your bunny hops over too ;-) Not sure what biek i'll be on, but my Zesty is currently forkless, so i'll probably either be on my HT (if my backs in good order), or heroically overbiked on my Dune !

I'm having "what bike?" musings too. Obvious choice is my anthem, especially as I now have a dropper on it but I do like my 29er at the moment or then there's the retros for a giggle.

If i'm on my Enduro Sled you'll either all have to wait for me at the top of the climbs, or i'll have too catch you up at the bottom of the descents...... ;-)

I might not feel so bad about being slow up the hills then.

I'm a definate maybe for this. I'm off work this week and was looking for somewhere new to ride (was looking at road routes) one day.

Cannock is about 90 minutes from me, so it's all about whether I can get away from home in time to get there for 5.

It's a great excuse to dig out the MTB and give it a clean up anyway. thumbup

Yup, weathers looking good (potential for a shower earlier in the afternoon) and if it's not too cloudy it'll stay lighter later!

I'll be on my Dune as my Back is still a bit crook and won't thank me for taking my HT!

Boooo! What about if PH writes a note for your boss to get you out of work? That would work... Wouldn't it?!

hehe
