Garmin edge 1000 not automatically uploading rides

Not sure why but my garmin seems to have stopped automatically uploading data. Garmin connect says last sync was on the 19th. It's connected to my wifi ok.... Any thoughts?

If you're uploading via an Android phone/tablet, has the device updated since the last upload? My Forerunner 220 stopped uploading after an Android update that meant the Garmin app needed location permissions in order to connect to Bluetooth. Reinstalling the Garmin Connect app fixed it.

Has it been updated recently? V9.0 seems to have caused some upload issues and they've just released V9.1.

it's running the latest software, 9.1. Just uninstalled the app on my android phone and re-installed it. Paired it with bluetooth to my phone, and still no luck. Signed out/in of my account on the garmin app, went into "my devices" and connected it, it even said sync complete, yet when I refresh the main page, it still says last sync 19/08....

how weird. Any other ideas?

After installing v9.0 mines wouldn't upload even though I was connected to wi fi. would connect but not sync with Garmin connect on my iPhone. Eventually deleted both the Bluetooth entrees and set it up again. Ride then synced usin connect on the iPhone and since then all rides have gone up automatically via Si fi as they should.

Interesting. Hopefully they'll release another software update soon.

I've logged into my garmin account on that site, yet I'm unable to post in the forum, any reason why? I can't see an option to post, or create a new thread.

One thing I'd like the edge to be able to do is calculate more things with laps (eg lap IF or lap NP and so on. They can do lap average power so why not IF or NP or TSS etc.

Hmmm, I removed it as a trusted device on my phone re-installed the app (as said earlier) to no avail, I've just done unpaired it on my phone and also got the garmin to forget my phone..... Then paired them again....

Went into the ride history on the device and, I did a ride Sunday that didn't upload, and now there was the option to manually upload (whereas there wasn't before), so maybe that's fixed it. I'll be doing a ride tomorrow so we'll see. Hopefully it works, if so.... Thanks for your help! I shall report back!

I've just tried starting and stopping the device (as an indoor ride) for 5 seconds or so..... No automatic upload but if you go into history at the top there's a new button which says "upload new activities". Hitting that then works fine. Not ideal but at least I don't have to faff about connecting it to the pc or whatever. Hopefully they'll fix it at some point soon. Will see what happens tomorrow.

Latest software is now uploading, previous week and a half has been manual! Hopefully sorted out now.

Glad I read this. I have the same issue with my 800. Thought it was on its way out as I need to sync with Garmin Connect before it uploads to Strava. Save me buying a new unit.

I have a 520 and after the last Garmin firmware update I had to delete the Bluetooth profiles on my phone and re-pair to get uploads working again.

Garmin is as Garmin does...

Still having issues with this....although most rides have been fine, this mornings ride into work didn't upload using the WiFi, so I had to enable bluetooth and upload it using my phone. Bizarre!!

Mine isn't working again. Used it twice on Sunday and was ok for the first ride then nothing since. When it works the Edge 1000 is great but on balance it has been the worst Garmin device I've ever owned. May just record stuff on my 920XT watch and just use the Edge 1000 to see what I'm doing at the time (which is how I use it during triathlons).

Worst case scenario is to record it to a microusb stick (which is what I have always done anyway), and then remove the stick, stick it in the PC and manually upload the file. It's a real faff but it can be done.

Ironically the first time mine didn't work was my Knighthood ride.....it probably thought "you're insane". So I manually uploaded that to Garmin connecT and training peaks. TrainerRoad uploaded them all but I wanted to see it all in one file.

I'll see what happens after my ride tomorrow.....

It's having to plug the thing into my pc that pisses me off. I only use it to update Garmin stuff or upload from Garmins when they are misbehaving.

Finding my new Garmin is doing this again....not uploading automatically. I've just updated it to software V12.20. Anyone else having issues? I'm finding that if I enable bluetooth and connect to my phone, then go into history, open up the ride I've just done and selecting "upload ride" it works absolutely fine. It's still something I shouldn't have to do though.

Do you have both Bluetooth profiles installed? I think you need both the vanilla one and the Bluetooth LE profile set up for it to work automatically.
