They'll work on whatever you take through the door, that's their job.

Not all will , or they will but whinge and moan, plus its a pain when bits break under warranty and you have to send them back

All perfectly doable, but it helps if you are mechanically astute to put the bike together etc

club mate got a canyon recently, he loves it, I mentioned the delays I read on here, but he said he got it in a few days from ordering no issues

It's a stock bike.

I know Diz doesn't 'do' maintenance or tools so I hope your LBS is happy to work on a personal import.
If my local shop didn't like that I didn't buy my bike there, I'd just use another shop.

Luckily for me I now have free bike servicing from a neighbour who only asks for a small donation (£10) to a charity they do a lot of fundraising for. I have taken a few bikes to him now, amazing job, far better than any LBS has done, stripped, de greased, cleaned and totally overhauled, for nothing other than cost of parts and a £10 donation.

Luckily for me, and just like me, he is a perfectionist - so in terms of servicing I am sorted. I might even learn how to do some more complex stuff with him to boost my learning.

Not sure that you can class yourself as a perfectionist if you aren't doing the work yourself... as a customer it just makes you 'fussy'!

Its my lack of knowledge, ability and time that leads me to have someone else do the work. It has no bearing on my perception and observation of the end result.

They won't accept more. In fact the secon time I used them they wouldn't accept anything at all as it was a week after the last time I used them. A rare find.
