It was nice today but I am struggling a little bit. I don't know why but I am finding I am getting more tired and my pace seems a touch slower.

It could be down to using my winterbike with mudguards and big boots. Also carrying all my work clothes and shoes today.

Not sure what it is... just seem to be going a bit slower.

Maybe I am being a bit more circumspect and cautious as I have been reading that 'another cyclist dies in London thread'

Anyway.. in a bit of rutt.

Give it a good shiny clean to make you want to ride it, then go for a 2 or 3hr morning hilly ride on Saturday or Sunday, then clean it again as soon as you get back. Then rest from cycling for a day or two. Your next commute will most likely feel easy peasy.

Don't know my pace but managed to beat this out to Fraggle Rock!

Not a bad sight on the ride home.

Found it hard work today but pleased with my times.

Shouted at some lady (to let her know I was there as I braked) who pulled out of a junction alongside me and then drifted towards me. Bit of a tricky one really, I can half understand the maneovere she pulled but unless they are on the other side of the road it's worrying for the cyclist as you have no idea if they've seen you or not. For all I know I was hidden by the door pillar when she pulled out, her windows weren't de-iced or she was paying more attention to her morning coffee.

I shouted at someone who failed to see me despite the Exposure light on my handlebar and helmet mounted one. He was going to pull out on me until I shouted at him.

Death stare given... no one died. kept it moving!

Last week, a car deliberately tried squeezing me into the kerb. Rather than the death stare I just whacked the passenger side widow with my palm till they drifted back. Can't understand the mentality. Do they actually want to get done for causing death by dangerous driving?

Me and the kids have been commuting in to work and school nearly every day this year (the old golf battery went over Christmas and I've not been bothered enough to get a new one yet). Really enjoy it as it's only 15 mins each way and do it 4 times a day. Plus it's all on 'cycle paths', just a shame all the pedestrians aren't aware and give me abuse.

On the road bike today as I've got a puncture on my usual MTB commuter and the wife's hybrid!

Rode in... Win

Pumped up my tyres from 60psi to 100psi and now I realise why cycling has been such hard work the last few times!... I am a doofus but I class this as a... Win!

I was fairly fast.. Win.

Half term low traffic.. Win.

Got a puncture riding through glass... lose

Was near work... Win

Had to walk a mile or so into work with my bike... lose.

I have spare inner tube.. Win.

I am going to class today as a win if I can change the tube within 30 minutes of faffing at lunch.. but the bloody continental tyres are a bd to get back on the rim. I have no idea why?

Just started back, got absolutely battered by an icy blast on the fens last night. Worth it, lovely steady ride back at sunrise this morning smile

Birmingham has returned to relatively pleasant weather after a few dirty days last week. No drama on the way in, soon it'll even be bright for the way home.

First day back on the bike after a week of cold and snot - thought it was a quick ride home but the bloody garmin took an age to start working so it missed my first couple of miles dammit.

Good to be off the train though!

i almost run over a pedestrian walking between cars on her mobile phone , luckily i saw her .

I am thinking of getting a petition to make all pedestrians get insurance & have some kind of license plate .

And helmets! Helmets too!

Surely if you equipped all pedestrians and all cyclists with that great panacea, 'the humble polystyrene headguard', then no one would die. Ever. Cancer would probably be cured too, as a direct side-effect of all the extra taxes the government ought to levy on walking...

Biked in on my road bike today since I broke my commuter. It really is a much faster experience. But now I am at my desk worrying about it locked outside. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Today was fun fighting the wind into work. Suspect it'll be even more fun on the way home!

Is it my perception or do driving standards/aggressive driving get noticeably worse in bad weather to cyclists?
