did anyone see Our Guy in China last night? It will be on All4 shortly I imagine

Basically he decided he was going to cycle 341 miles across a desert road. He had his steel SINGLE SPEED commuter bike sent across from the UK, had kebab the night before the ride and completed the ride in 28 hours. no preparation no fuss just got on his bike and rode. and rode. and rode. definitely worth watching. the best bit is seeing him carry a little plastic bottle of water in his water cage.

this man is a legend

Hope you are keeping well, not been on my (road) bike in ages!

who ever goes into the tv film and radio forum? never knew it even existed. i thought pistonheads was only about cycling. amazing how they blur the edges these days.

I was wondering when this was filmed. If it was pre Tour Divide then, he'd have been in training and treated it as such.

If it was post Tour, then he would have been set up already.

Next time he'll have to do it with no outside assistance, with fully loaded kit and panniers on a heavier bike, and more importantly, cycle to the start in the first place.

I'm not saying he's like those Strava warriors that drive to a segment and bag a KOM on fresh legs... am I? hehe

He wasn't exactly making it easy for himself though!

It looks like he is now cycling around the UK - aiming to do 250 miles a day for 18 days!

That will be hard going at this time of year and how bad traffic is these days, bet that has a lot to do with why the records stood for so long.
