You appear to have confused Google and Pistonheads:

It really isn't, there's very little spare/free bike parking for starters, and theft is a massive problem. Plus you arrive at work/home smelling like a tramp.
I shower at the office. Its really that simple smile

Commuted by bike at my last job and I showered at the office there too.
Indeed.

Also Mr Phantom clearly doesn't know the difference between the smell of a bit of sweat and someone who hasn't had a shower in months.

I shower after every ride but on many occasions I could go without and not smell in the slightest, and I don't normally wear deoderant either. Showering twice a day tends to eliminate the need for it.

This thread has to go down as one of the silliest I've ever read on PH and that is saying something.

It really amazes me how some people can't see that their views are based almost entirely on uninformed prejudice.

Sadly we don't have showers at our office, which is probably the case for a lot of people. I used to work at a site that did and would cycle in and have a shower at work, and I spent some time last year when it was only a 3.5km flat cycle to the office, so not enough to get sweaty. But I wouldn't want to cycle my current 9 mile commute without a shower at the end.

It's certainly accurate when it comes to this topic.

I do wet wipes or Muc-Off's dry shower at the work end of 4.5miles, I wouldn't want to do much more than that though without a shower. I also find that wearing polo shirts rather than proper shirts in the office makes a difference to how I feel about not fully showering. Especially if I've left it a bit late, pushed a little too hard and got my core temp cooking a little...

I wouldn't go that far but it is a little sad that people can't have an open debate the moment without it degenerating into a full bore slanging match, name calling and general aggression..]
All human life goes here: those who enjoy the odd bar brawl at the end of the night and those who attended those, apparently worthless at the time, debating classes at school/college/uni laugh

The shower thing is a myth, I used to work in France, cycled 10k each way every day. Showered before leaving the house, fine. Clean clothes on arrival, clean t shirt every day, no BO. 20 minutes on a bike isn't the problem, it's 8 or 10 hours at work makes the difference and changing clothes.

Back in the 60's just about the entire working class cycled to and from work, nice steady pace, they didn't all arrive sweating and stinking, because it was just a lazy sort of pace.

On the other hand, these days some drive to work, and stink biggrin
