Ride London 2017 Ballot

Just had my magazine through the post, not had a successful ballot yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

Charity place, loads around still as IMO they are over allocated with places seems much worse than with L2B.

5 years of entering the ballot and 5 years of failure getting in!
I did it last year through a club place and it was probably the most dangerous ride I've ever done. So not too bothered about not getting in this time

Care to expand? Is it down to the sheer number of riders or poorly organised?

Too many riders with poor riding skills. I saw at least 6 accidents involving people on the ground covered in blood and another 2 involving ambulances with riders on stretchers who were unconscious.
It is a ride worth doing (if you can get in) but you need eyes in the back of your head!

There are other avenues to explore though. Maybe the 40?

I understand they might be cutting the numbers this year and increase the amount of women getting places. There will be more places in the 40 though

Ditto, was really confused trying to remember if i applied twice by accident or if thats even possible. Opened the commiserations mag first then opened the second mag to a pleasant surprise. Wonder if it happened this way to many and if theres been some sort of system error.

Worth doing at least once for the experience. Much better if you can get an early start time tho.
