At ExCel. Also includes the Triathlon show (formerly of Sandown Park) Outdoor Show and The Dive Show.

Did anyone go last year and was it worth it? I have the Friday free so thought about it. I'm not after anything specific, just haven't been.

It's £16 on the door.

Went last year and I'd say it wasn't worth it. Nothing to really buy and 95% road bikes. I've the day off work too, so looked at their list of speakers, not one of interest to me do won't be going.

Also the MCN Motorcycle show is on at same venue the same weekend, if anyone is interested in the motorised versions! Although I suspect you will have to pay for each.

Looks like it's another £17

TBH if it was a tenner, Id do both. Haven't been to the bike show since mid noughties I guess at Ally Pally. Quality of young lady for Promo purposes is (at least was) high biggrin

Fewer young ladies on display these days I'm afraid.

I went to both last year (work thing) and thought they were pretty good, but probably less so if I'd had to pay £20 to get in.

Not many bikes on sale, but quite a few accessories and lots of nutrition stuff.

Well I went anyway biggrin

Order of popularity.

Holidays/Training Camps
Charity Stands
Road Bikes
Mountain Bikes
4 BMX's (only really 'cause it was GT)

Traithlon show was smaller than when it was at Sandown Park

Had a cursory look round the outdoor show. Didn't see much of the Ocean thing.

Listened to Chris Boardman.

Few random pics

Like this Canyon Aeroad

Hannah is there tomorrow. cloud9

Classic with 8 speed hub gears and a price tag which was a bit tough!

Clean CF

I've not done the Cable Cars before. Bit step at £3.50 each way and a queue!

I wouldn't go again. Promo girls were few but nice. Not stunners. But nice, smile

Did consider the MCN show, but was losing interest generally at this point. laugh I'm sure someone will put pics up in Biker Banter

I went on Thursday, the Birmingham nec show was better, as more brands of bikes, my friends wife was after a new bike and there was no bianchi, colnago or genesis.

I went yesterday, absolute bobbins. I felt like I'd paid to go into a poorly stocked shop. Lunch £11 for a chicken sandwich and a can of pop.

My mate came up from South Devon for the Dive Show today, he was there 20 minutes and went home again.

I bought a coffee £2.80 so "standard" price.

Bought lunch from the Tesco 400m down the road. £3 meal deal for the win biggrin

Like I say, I wouldn't go again. Probably will go to the cycle Show at the NEC in September though

I was disappointed! A friend and I popped up as were both after new bikes and he's after a Canyon so took the opportunity to see one in the flesh. We both thought there was distinct lack of shopping especially backpacks, unless you wanted some funky courier bag. He wanted to see what Camelbak and Osprey had to offer, nothing there at all!

When I went years ago I'm sure there was a lot more on offer for all types of riding, you were ok if you wanted discounted roadie kit as there were lots on offer. I'm not sure if my expectations were too high but I expected Evans, CRC/Wiggle, OnOne/Planet X, RIbble etc to show a face or 2 but nope.

I doubt Ill go again. Shame as it used to be really good!

I didn't even realise it was on or I may have popped down.

One of my friends ended up going and bought a new bike there.

I remember having an amazing time going to a bike show at Ally Pally in about 1987 (about 12 yr old), there were tons of stands and me and my mate that went came back with carrier bags full of stickers, freebie samples and stickers. Back then though we used to read MBUK or hang around in the bike shops near Leeds like Stif, Two Wheels Good or Ron Kitchings to get a feel for what products were out there. Nowadays you can get info on every product under the sun on the internet and the show loses at least some of it's usefulness.

What annoyed me about a certain British bike manufacturer there, was I wanted to try a medium frame size but the only medium bike they had was supporting a tarp, don't they realise the reason people go to these shows is to try the bikes for size !? Also most of the other bikes where actually offered by a shop !! Not the manufacturer.

My mate had the same idea, sit on a Canyon to test it for size as he is in limbo on their size guide between a S or M. He was not allowed on the bike "loads of people will then try it and itll be a nightmare".

Id be inclined to email Canyon about that.

Or maybe ask to pop into their UK base biggrin
