Eek, best price sounds like a gumtree customer offer..Don't mind weight. Must have mudguards but must be a reasonable deal. £700? Is that near achievable?

Spotted any good deals?

Kinda yes partly due to build quality and resale.

What else equally good is put there?

I can see the appeal in not ever having to leave it outside to be nicked, especially when nipping into the shop hehe

Cheaper: I bet a 4yr old Brompton loses about £200(?) A bit like buying a Islabike.

Raw with Brooks saddle. I like that. Collection only means a trip

BTW, there's a Brompton appreciation thread on here - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

You might pick up some advice on there.

EDIT: nm - see you've posted on there.

Do you have access to a ride to work scheme? That should save you 20-30%.

I bought a Brompton through the cycle to work scheme, plan was to ride it to the station. Then a few weeks later moved jobs and have to drive to work, have never even sat on the thing!

Yes, but they are crap in comparison. Build quality is no where near a Brompton. However, they do ride better and the V-brakes are better too.

The fold is crude and the bike doesn't self support very well when folded.

£700 is enough for a used brompton, but spend £100 more and you could get a new one.

Shouldn't be as it says ex-demo on the email, they don't list Bromptons in their hire offering currently either.

That's a big demo fleet!

You usually have 1-2 demos.

Not upto 10.
