I ordered a zwift hub one about 28 days ago. Decided to return it on the basis it would appear now to have a finite life, seems commercially naive of zwift to sell a new turbo and 4 months after launch discontinue it.
? They still sell it, nothing about it being discontinued. Sure there’s some deal/tie-in with Wahoo so promoting that now but if your Zwift job works well (mine does) then what’s the issue?

Only committed to 2 years of software support.

Interesting, “min” 2 years, I suppose that minimum will come down to how well they are doing in 2yrs time! So will have to assume no more than 2yrs for now….

Unfortunately, mine is 2months old so out of that 30day window.

That said, no major issues so far, only one incident last week where it would seem to disconnect after 2secs, re-starting Zwift app on Mac resolved that and no repeat of that issue, so could be issue with the Zwift app rather than the hardware.

Main reason I bought (over Wahoo) is the single cog feature. That said I know Wahoo have some business issues too with reports of layoffs, dropping support/dev on some products (e.g. rival watch etc…)

I wonder if any more to this in coming months…..

Isn’t the zwift machine just a white labelled thing from another brand? Perhaps they’ll still be supporting?

As a "roadie" I don't find flat bar bikes very comfortable, especially riding on the road any distance, I prefer my hands rotated 90 degrees.

I would try some cheap bar ends.
Ditto. And mount those bar ends inboard of the grips, inline with your shoulders, so your arms aren't splayed.
Also higher bars, shorter stem might both help.
But locking your arms out is definitely a thing; some of the workouts will remind you to keep elbows bent and shoulders relaxed, it's about using your core muscles more. Happens more naturally out on the road, but even then I find my elbows locked out when I'm getting tired.

I get thumbs up from you and others who aren't part of my ride, but I never have an opportunity to reciprocate. The online log will show people who have ridden, but not who's riding at any given time. I don't think I've blocked notifications, so how are people sending thumbs when I ride.
Companion app on my phone. Gives notifications when people I follow (and, IIRC, have favourited) are Zwifting and you can give a ride on from the notification. Or open the app, and give all your followers currently Zwifting a ride on from the big blue button top right. You can't reciprocate because we're not riding wink

as i understand it, wahoo were in the process of suing Jetblack (and by extension zwift) for the zwifthub one and jetblack (volt?). I strongly suspect that the new partnership between zwift and wahoo is in response to this litigation.
I wouldnt buy a zwifthub now!

Zwift is the buggiest POS app, eventually deleted it because it had so many issues - will just stick to Strava in future and the standard programs on the exercise bike

Interested to hear what issues you've had - it is always been ultra reliable for me.

I think the issues may be on your end with this one. I've been running Zwift for 5 years across various laptops, ipads and phones with various turbo trainers and can only recall ever having one session crash. It's one of the most stable 'games' I've ever used.

Anyone know how to get garmin intensity minutes from a Strava ride? I’ve used both MB Pro and iPad to run zwift the turbo is an elite one. I just do climbs and time myself as part of a range of training activities.
I have my garmin record the ride too as just manually delete the garmin entry on Strava (I don't use Garmin for tracking the miles).

Agree. Other than being slightly narked at buying a zwift hub one (after procrastinating for a month) for it to be discontinued I’ve no major issues. I find the events a bit of a pain in terms of cheating but that’s actually a ‘real life’ problem, the platform doesn’t change people’s inherent lack of integrity!

Oh ok! I was hoping there was a way to get zwift to write to both garmin connect and Strava and for GC to calculate the intensity minutes as I use GC for training data management and Strava more for social interaction.

Tried de-linking and re-linking your accounts?

My Zwift auto uploads to Garmin and Strava and counts my intensity minutes.

If it makes any difference, I think mine goes Zwift -> Garmin -> Strava. As in I connected Strava to my Garmin account which was already linked to Zwift. I’ve never linked Strava to Zwift directly.

Multiple attempts to connect to bike, sometimes can't get it to connect at all. Lost data from a few rides not fully syncing to Strava, it had the data it just screwed up the sync. Lots of bugs in the UI too. Maybe if you have a dedicated setup it just works but I was using it on phone in the gym.

Does it do anything with recovery time and training intensity scores / training status? Last time I left to just the zwift sync it would show the activity but not use it for calculating training status. So I'd have a strong week on the turbo and be in 'detraining' on my watch which was irritating!

Yes, the integration between Zwift, Garmin and Strava is fakey, pretty poor, amateurish really! Especially so as Zwift is supposed to be a training platform.

After a gushing review from neighbour, I think I want a turbo trainer for zwift...

I'm pretty unfit, so certainly don't need a pro level bit of kit.

Wahoo Kikr Core Zwift 1 the one to get? Need something with thru axle compatibility.
