Since the advent of LED lights, can’t see the point of an expensive dynamo tbh.
LED backup is as cheap as chips, weighs nothing & small!
I would never be without my dynamo set up on the Brompton, fit and forget with the senso mode they come on when dark, just hassle free for commuting, standlight means they stay lit for around 4 minutes when stopped.

LED lights are ok, but you have to remember to switch them on and charge them as required.

I had to search what standlight is, but yeah, it sounds like a capacitor that keeps some charge so the light doesn't just turn off, right?
Yep, several minutes before it runs out. It's not a major issue if it does for me, as I like to have flashing rear lights in addition to the constant dynamo, and a lack of a front light when stationary is no biggie.

Don't tell me, another motorway you cycled on "by accident"?
The sign clearly says "not a motorway"!!! ??
I think outnumbered needs to get an iron, because they're getting their knickers in a twist over nothing. It's an end of motorway sign, but I joined from the joining slip road. Just took a breather and a funny photo, but it shows the beam cutoff like a car's dipped beam rather well I think.

How about we add a hard shoulder to the mix while still staying entirely legal? rofl

Nice!
In that instance it was just so incredibly ridiculous that you *could* legally cycle there that I had to go an see it for myself to believe it. I genuinely thought I was just missing a "no cycling" sign on Google Street View before the tunnels themselves. But nope. That's not any old end of motorway sign
With that confirmed it was time to get the heck out of dodge, and use the pretty nice cycle infrastructure further north heading to the crossing. They drive you across for free.

I'd still be afraid to cycle there, the cars are so fast and so close next to you, too fast for my liking. Then again this can happen in the narrow country lanes too... Oh well

I agree, from what I'm reading.

I've also found some info on the charging; apparently you have specific powerbanks for low charging, as most powerbanks are designed for wall/socket chargers, not trickle charging from a dynamo. There are a few in the market, but as expected, they charge rather slowly. I will have to think about this more carefully

Yes, this is one of them. But only 3000mah, very small capacity. Better than nothing though!
