Just built up my 2nd Aithein as my training bike/autumn/spring/summer. Fancied a change of colour from the green one I had :-)

I won a prize the other week:

...and all it cost me was a £25 ticket to a charity fundraiser (itself an awesome night).

Specialised Tarmac Comp, fresh from wheeling her home, hence the lack of pedals, dork disc, labels etc, etc. Couldn't help but pick this colour scheme as a slight nod to the Gulf colours.

Yeah, still pinching myself biggrin

Tri bike had to give up her cranks for my road bike, wiggle New Forest Sportive tomorrow and my old crankset wrapped their tits in yesterday, classic.

Means Quintana is getting treated to something new though

Got my XC bike built up with new wheels and forks. Will take it out for a spin in a bit (I have fitted pedals now):

I've just done a quick 26km loop of which about half is off road with over 800m of climbing

First impressions of the bike is that is far better than I ever expected it to be! Bearing in mind than other than riding it to the post office on the original wheels and forks this is my first actual ride on the bike, so I tried not to hurt myself!

The forks seem fantastic. (As a comparison, our other mountain bikes are a 2015 Devinci Spartan with 160mm Formula 35's and a 2015 Banshee spitfire with 160mm RCT3 Pikes. I also until recently had a hardtail with 120mm SID xx's which seemed to beat me up every time I rode it)

From my quick first ride the forks seem to have excellent small bump compliance. I normally ride the Spartan as it is ridiculously plush on rough tracks. I find the Pikes a bit less so, and the 120mm Sids which were also 2015 I found really harsh

The RS-1's are also seem really stiff front to back, although a bit less so if you put the wheel between your legs and twist, although they are an XC fork, and even the larger forks I have do flex in that situation.

I will try and do a few rides on it over the next week or so and see how it goes. So far I am happy with them. They also look awesome!

smile Nice. Yes, the bike mags talk about the flex in them, but damn, they look good...

Nice. I love older Wiliers.

Those cables look like they need some attention though.

Mechanical doping?

We can see where you've plugged it in to charge the battery... wink

My new Giant at the waterfront in Cannes.

It's certainly a better bike than its rider needs!

Life is about want, not need.

Thanks, just been out for my first spin on it and must say I'm very pleased with its performance smile

Not quite sure what's going on with the cables, they have some sort of flexible casing over them, most probably remove it shortly.

Damn, you've got me! Although this is my electric bike, no hiding the battery on this one smile

From the picture they look like Nokon cable outers - they're actually pretty good.
My comment was more about lengths, routing and angles - the rear shift cable looks strange where it meets the downtube cable stop.

My first road bike during a detour back from buying it. Triban 520 flat bar. I couldn't get on with drop bars when I tried them, but I'll build up to them once I get used to road cycling.

My commuter, a Genesis Day One Alfine Di2, it's a comfortable place to be for the twenty mile each way trip, the bag has enough space for lunch and a change of clothes. Fancy putting lighting to hub dynamo duties before next winter.

The old

and the new - picked up on Saturday and very pleased with it so far. Need to sort a black stem, headset and bar tape though!

Looks great.

Your location ...I'm not a typically jealous person, but F me...I've just ridden in snow and sleet for three hours, my feet are in the stinging warm up phase. I can't wait for the weather to warm up.
