Before you ride it ANYWHERE get some Lizard Skins patches under the cables where they run past the fork / head tube. But, welcome to the CX club.
Thanks for the welcome, but this is an additional CX to the 2011/12 CX Team I've had a while...
To be used by Mrs Johnny. Should get its first outing tomorrow afternoon hopefully.

Loving the cross bikes. What are they actually like when riding on the road? much slower than a road bike? I'm thinking about selling the winter hack and replacing it with a cross bike.
I'll be commuting on mine in Friday so will let you know. I need to put some more road oriented tyres on it but I do like the look of it on the knobblies!Steve

Honestly, no.Run them at 50/60psi and I was regularly seeing 20mph+ on the flat.
Obviously they're not quite as quick, but it's not that big a difference for day to day riding.

I'm considering the same. I have an unused MTB and winter roadie and I'm thinking of flogging both and replacing with a crosser. Is there a good time to buy them 2nd? Presumably now?

It was me, cheers, and your blog was interesting. Its between this, a Ribble or Planet X for my next bike probably towards the end of the year.
Ah nice AMG, glad the blog was of some interest! I don't think you can go wrong with the Canyon as long as your confident of ordering the right size (even then you can send it back). Although I have had 2 x punctures in 2 months and 340ish miles ridden, mine came with Conti GP4000s tyres and I have a couple of mates with them, they love them and have minimal punctures, have I just been a bit unlucky I wonder? Hate punctures, especially when it's starts p*ssing down while your faffing with tyre levers
