My first n+1 purchase since the late 90s. Itching to take it out while it's still dryish

Looks great but you may need pedals!

Put my Speedplays on and popped out for a 30 minute test. Loved it. Better in every way from my old Bianchi. My only critisism would be that the chain doesn't stay on 1st gear and the chain rubs on the front mech on the lowest 2 gears. Poor PDI prep by the shop. Otherwise happy days!

I have them on my CX bike, far far far better than the Avid BB5 that came with them. Very progressive and great leaver feel.

How well does the self-adjusting pad thing work? I'm tempted to get one for the front to see how they work and then get one for the rear later if they're good.

This should have turned up in early January but turned up this week. Tarmac Comp 2015. Didn't even wrap it up and put it under the tree....

Not really noticed thus far. I have two sets of wheels for my CX bike, when I switch between I need to adjust the break position, no real hassle only loosen the two bolts, grip lever and tighten up again. The other benefit of the is that there is a lock out screw, which you put in place when you remove the wheels.

BMC TMR02 with Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLRs... give it to me, baby!! lick
Bought it this spring. Coming from mountain bikes originally, I have to admit that road bikes are great fun.

Yeah, I have BB5s on now and they are, frankly, ste. No matter how they're adjusted.

Looks like I may be upgrading then...

Fab! I test rode what must be one of the only other ones of these in the country, before eventually buying my Cervelo. Cracking bike, hard as nails over anything other than a silky smooth road though (he says, from a 3 mile test ride). I still think they look the absolute business though, more so with rims like yours. How do you find it?

Yes, I remember your thread. Cervélos are great bikes too, of course. It's very much a matter of personal taste. As far as the BMC is concerned: The frame is indeed quite stiff, so the ride quality very much depends on the road surface and the tire pressure (I run Conti GP 4000s at 7,5-8,0 bar). On smooth tarmac however, the bike literally goes like a rocket, totally awesome... that is until a semi-pro dude on his Triathlon bike overtakes you and shows you who`s the boss! I also like the Mavic SLRs. They`re just drop dead gorgeous - especially with the flat carbon spokes - but also have adequate breaking performance due to the use of the aluminum "Exalith" breaking surface. However, they do develop a nasty and rather loud squeal from time to time. Overall, a very nice bike with lots of beautiful details. Can`t wait for springtime!

My first foray into the world of weird skinny wheels arrived on Christmas eve and I finally got it out for a ride today. Really like it, didn't want to spend too much incase I didn't take to it, and I unfortunately couldn't buy this one from a LBS as the deal was just too good from CRC.

Did a short ride after my Sunday morning off road ride. Its really strange, but I like it so far.

Those handle bars look a little 'erect'!
