New Mango bike, set up for single speed at the moment although I'm dying to try it fixed. Managed to get a fairly large discount through a special offer on a student website so thought it was worth a punt. Preferred a more subtle colour scheme than some of the multicoloured ones I've seen in the past. First impressions are ok and was well put together, the saddle is actually similar to the Charge Spoon and was a pleasant surprise. The paint looks and feels like a satin finish which might be a pain to keep spotless, (knew I should've gone for black ). Everything else seems fine, although I may swap out the calipers with some spares I have knocking around as these feel a bit too budget.
Love that (despite the green chain!). Single speeds / fixers / track bikes just look so pure and uncluttered.JEA1K said:
Recent build for winter use. Not strictly a winter bike but being used in winter and will continue to use as a training bike once the race season starts.
Great choice! I very nearly bought an Aithein last year to build up as a summer/race bike. I didn't in the end but I went the opposite way later in the year and bought a T2 to build as a winter bike. Four months on and I'm still loving it! I think I'll end up using it as a training bike in the summer too. Excuse the spacers but the head tube is diddy (compared to my summer bike) and I haven't got round to replacing the stem.
Kinesis is a really underrated brand IMO.
