My new Pinnacle on its first proper ride, took it up on Portsdown Hill and found a few quick tracks on the way home from work. Rides really well.
And then on the way home I got a puncture and I didn't have any spare tubes (different size wheels than anything else I own typically) or pump with me! The joys of cycling
Luckily popped in to my old work place and someone walked out as I got there who I blagged a lift from.

Finally had a go on the girlfriends commencal meta am 29. Compared to my enduro expert. I found it climbed brilliantly except for the very steepest tightest stuff where the extra weight and size over mine started to make it feel a bit clunkier. Downhill wise it was more confidence inspiring and much faster. Loved drop offs on it.
Overall I was faster everywhere. It does reduce the sensation of speed but I think it was just as fun! The other thing about it that I loved was the dropper. I absolutely must get one!

She started at 18kgs as ridden with panniers and lights etc. and 13.5kgs as it arrived from the shop, the wheels and tyres are over 2kgs lighter! With the new gearset, pedals and seat post she weighs in at 10.4kgs in race trim with the mudguards to come off on the day!
Ok so it's no carbon road bike but not bad for an ali-framed tourer, it'll do for now until I can afford something racier...

Plus, putting new bits on an existing bike is much easier to get past SWMBO that sneaking a whole new one in!
Well, finally, after a shed load of miles on my Bianchi, the summer bike is nearing readiness for Spring. Pedals done, cages done, chain and drive all de greased and everything checked and as per standards running as showroom.
My Wheelsmith 50's arrive in a few weeks, which I personally think will finish the bike perfectly, no graphics. Can't wait to get back on it and see what my winter training has done for the bike.
