Mines fitted with formula rx and they are absolutely pish, thankfully my avid trail 7 4 pots are in the post to me.
First proper 1 x 10 ride and I love it, want to see if a narrow wide means I can ditch the chain device and decluter
It's odd as they seem to get good reviews. They've been bled twice, once by me and once by and actual expert. The pads have been replaced and the discs sanded back. I took ages and did the bed-in procedure really carefully. They have power, so long as you have the hands of Arnie. Not very useful when the terrain is seriously rough and you need to be holding onto the bars with every available finger! I think XTs will be getting bought very soon!First proper 1 x 10 ride and I love it, want to see if a narrow wide means I can ditch the chain device and decluter
I can lock them up, but there's 70% movement in the lever before any engagement and they've been bleed twice, apparently that's just a formula trait.
I can't stand them, the avid are going to be my first venture away from Hope so we'll see how that goes.
Big fan of the lever fitting my reverb, one ore clamp off the handle bar so top marks for that

I've had many Avid brakes. Great when new...then not so much! I bought Xts after my Elixir CRs died. They've been outstanding. Have never used Hope brakes on a ride. They always look nice though!I can't stand them, the avid are going to be my first venture away from Hope so we'll see how that goes.

Yes - it's the Sport model I got through from Evans via the ride2work scheme. I doubt there is much difference between the models.
Have you been out on yours yet? I've not had the chance yet.
Very nice and a better spec than mine.Have you been out on yours yet? I've not had the chance yet.
Yes, been out for a couple of short 15 mile rides and I absolutely love it!
Anything would feel great coming from a 16 year old mountain bike with two buckled wheels and no brakes
Still building up, spec as currently stands:
Parlee ESX, custom digi-cam paint job. Size small.
Drivetrain: Dura-ace di2 9070
Brakes: Dura-ace, plus direct mount rear
Wheels: Enve 6.7 clincher with Chris King hubs
Bar / stem: Enve ses bar & stem (stembshould be 110 and with black logos, not yet received). Also had to leave 5mm of spacer to avoid da junction box fouling on frame
Cages: Arundel
Saddle: fizik curve
Cranks: rotor 3d+ 165mm 52:36 Q rings. Again, bit let down here, should he on Rotor dn powercranks. 53:39 q-rings currently being powder coated and custom black vinyl added (match wheels).

Morning all,
Thought I'd share my first full carbon bike having previously been on a Boardman Team Road bike for the last 5 years, which I still enjoy to be fair. Only got out for a 15 mile ride on the weekend unfortunately, but first impressions are the lack of weight and responsiveness. When you press on the pedal all of that energy seems to go into moving you forward.
I know I'm probably not going to see the full benefits of the deep section wheels at the speeds I go (and eating a couple less pies would have more impact), but, and this is a big personal opinion; I love the way they look, which will make me go out lots more on the bike, for longer - ergo I lose weight!!!
Cheers, Griff
