Just built up this CAAD10 disc frame with hydraulic discs and Di2. Fits me well and I love the Matt finish with gloss metallic black/gold details.

So, after riding the fixie for a while and using her on outings with my daughters (ages 7 and 8) it wasn't really living up to my expectations or proving as practical as I would have liked.

With that in mind, this week, I 'ave been mostly flipping the handle bars and fitting a rear brake.

Going from this:

New Tyres... by Ben Magee, on Flickr

To this:

Banana Boy Project Single Speed: Rear Wheel Flipped and Rear Brake Added... by Ben Magee, on Flickr

Rode her to work today and found the ride much more relaxing and enjoyable. I also flipped the rear hub to the free wheel hub rather than the fixed gear which made is much easier to manoeuvre at slow speeds! smile

I might have another go at re-painting it over the winter?...

I had to look that up!

I'm 6'4 but it looks worse in the picture than it is I think. The drop is ok to the bars but the reach is perhaps slightly longer than I'd like as the hoods on hydraulic shifters are quite long. Did 4 hours today though and no complaints!

Maybe not as bad from this angle:

Got this delivered on Saturday and had 25km on it on Sunday. A touch faster than the basic Allez I came from!

Picked this up on the 17th June. Second bike on the CTW scheme. It's a Fuji Transonic 2.5

Did one ride on the standard wheels and cheap tyres punctured twice. Never planned on keeping them. They are now in garage and I've replaced them with a set of Cosine 32mm ali clinchers fitted with Michelin Pro4 Endurance tyres. They don't feel as tough as Gatorskins, which is what I'm used to.

Wheels are a good spec for the price and thanks to Wiggle's bank holiday weekend deal, I got them for £225. Sealed cartridge bearings and 1495g in weight.

Bike was the best spec'd carbon bike I could get for closest to the £1k CTW limit. I paid £1274 and I got Ultegra mechs and shifters with Praxis BB and chainrings/cranks. It also features 105 direct mount brakes. The pads are pretty poor, but over all the bike rides brilliantly. Much stiffer than 6 year old Ali Giant that its replaced.

I admit that the Tarmac and the Evo are better looking bikes, but the looks of the Fuji are growing on me smile

I looked at the obvious offerings from Specialised and Cannondale, but they were all 105 and £1500. Trek and Cannondale both had external cables too and I much prefer internal cable routing.

Long Term plans:
Replace 105 cassette with Ultegra
replace KMC chain with Ultegra
Replace 105 brakes with Ultegra
Replace bars, stem and spacers with chinese carbon (Hylix and fake 3Ts)
Titanium skewers and chainring bolts.
Ultegra chainset (not sure about this as I like the black stealth look of the Praxis set)

I've run carbon bars on my CX and my Giannt road bike for a while and I certainly notice the road buzz going back to ali bars.

This is my first bike with a standard chainset and not a compact and I actually think I prefer it smile

Nearly finished building my wife's Winter bike. Needs the correct adaptor for the rear disc caliper, bit of cockpit tuning and bar tape. Plus the SKS mudguards.

Kinesis Racelight 4S Disc, matching wheels, Ultegra Di2 with 160mm cranks, Shimano R785 shifters and hydraulic brakes.

Just finished building this, Kinesis T2 frame and campag Centaur / Chorus bits from my old bike (snapped dropout write off!).
Doesn't quite have the zing of the Carbon frame but surprisingly nippy smile

Just bought a Norco Torrent 7.2 pick it up tonight. Excite.

This is my first bike for 11 years since I had a 2005 Specialsied P2 which was stolen after a couple of months.

Spent months deciding and decided this might fit the bill for what I want. I suspect Ill swap the forks out for some nice Fox forks at some point and change the tyres, maybe something a little thinner.

Fitted my new Zuus wheels. Basically Novatech hubs with generic carbon rims, some stickers and (crucially) a year's UK warranty.

It looks smart for a five year old bike I reckon.

Nice! How much were the wheels?

£380 with skewers, tubes, tape, spare spokes, oh and a creak from one of the spokes on the rear which I *think* I've solved by tightening it... otherwise they're going back.

This compares to about £250 for a set of what I assume to be roughly similar FarSports, so I'm paying £130 for some stickers and a UK warranty which I consider to be worth it.

Lovely! I have a slight creak/knock/rattle from my rear Ultegra wheel (after a few thousand miles) so obviously rather than thinking about new bearings or even rebuilding with a new hub, the thought of some new carbon rims is more attractive!
Pretty light i guess?

New to me rather than new. I thought I'd try a 29er as I fancied a modern XC bike. Picked this up for a song, 2012 Giant XTC. I've totally stripped and serviced it all including new BB, headset, cables, pads, chain and cassette etc. Only annoying bit is the effing brakes which still aren't quite right after numerous bleeds.
