This is my 28 year old daughters bike I have just completed. It's a Ribble "Transit" workhorse for her to use going to and from work.

This is very special to me, I had this custom made for me in the early 90's by Raleigh SD in Worksop. It's now very old school.

It's a Raleigh DYNA-TECH 800 and super rare. Top of the Dyna-Tech range aimed at top level riders. Built from Reynolds 2080 tubing and bonded to aluminium lugs.
The forks are Reynolds mang moly 753 equivalent. The colour is Cerise and Harlequin with an amazing paint finish. The frame was assembled after the painting and the main tubes were masked off at the ends to protect them for bonding. They were then painted silver. The ends were then flashed. The decor in the center of the tubes is done by a process called "Reprotherm" which involves attaching a piece of paper with the image on it in dyes. This is securely wrapped and then heated in the oven to around 200 deg C. Final coat is lacquer.

Groupset is Campagnolo Chorus 9 speed throughout including the aero seatpost. The wheels are Mavic hand built onto Campagnolo Chorus Hubs.

It's in truly immaculate condition, I still have the original down tube shifters and the original document signed by the frame builder!!

It's a piece of British cycling history and a joy to ride.

First proper ride out on my new X bike, absolutely great fun. Couple of little tweaks needed to the set-up but other than that perfect. 17 miles at dawn around a rather chilly and muddy Salisbury Plain followed by a quick hose down and breakfast.

My baby about to retire for the Winter after 2500 miles over the summer.
The weather has crossed the line now and it's time for the winter bike and the cross bike to get the majority of the mileage.

Faster than I am, 7kg all in, has done everything from 300k audaxes to crit racing this year.

Ritchey Superlogic finishing kit, saddle currently a Fizik Ardea.
Next years rebuild will add Zipp Vuka bars and the rest of the 10 speed Red Groupset (Currently Red / Force mix)

Thank you Thiscocks, what happened to all the good British Bike/Frame Builders, a whole tradition wiped out in 10 years!! Very Sad

Three daughters and a wife....very demanding but it has it's rewards.

Chas Roberts now there's a blast from the past, a well respected frame builder.

Years ago when I was in the national GB team (schoolboy/junior) I had two Bob Jackson's and a Condor made for me, then I found out about girls and pubs and gave up the team sold the bikes and bought a Mk1 Lotus Cortina and Yamaha DT 175!!

Mk 1 cortina is an acceptable replacement smile. There's a guy called Lee Cooper who builds the frames for Bob Jackson in his home workshop near Coventry. He sprayed and welded some frames for me, really nice bloke and worth knowing if you have some steel bikes!

Hi fromage

Yes it does look weird and no they don't. The saddle was loose on the mount during shake down testing when I took the picture. Agreed, It doesn't make for a good photo....... has been adjusted.

I have one of the ti tubed / steel lugged dynatechs in a similar colour scheme. Sadly I no longer have the original forks as they were replaced with later 1" carbon Look forks to get rid of the quill stem about 15 years ago.

The colour schemes are awesome - I awlays wondered how they achieved it.
