This is the only bike I considered over and above the felt, but in the bright green. Couldn't turn down the price I was offered on the Felt, though.

Lovely bike. Well done.
If it's any consolation - good move. The green version was a "special order" and looked sublime on the internet. I saw one in the flesh at Corridori - bike shop in Epsom. Looked great from afar, but, the paint was awful. We all agreed, not a great move. Flakey , egg shell stuff.

You were lucky to see a bright green one - they were "ask only".

Is the bike being held up by magic in that photo?

Dizeee's De Rosa? I think it may be a pint glass under the L/H pedal.

Yup a half pint glass under pedal. Always works a treat. Roll on tomorrow for my first long ride!

Have just ordered one of these; it's a Bottecchia T1 tourmalet. I'm friends with my local LBS and this is a brand he sells (one of only a few in the UK), and he runs Team Bottecchia. (Ottavio Bottecchia was a famous Italian cyclist in the '20s).

It's their carbon aero offering, and I cannot wait biggrin I test rode last week, ordered on Thursday, and am awaiting delivery date.

With all these nice colour schemes I am going off my blue De Rosa! Maybe a future project to have a custom paint job.

That Bottechia is very nice. Very nice indeed. How did it test ride?

That does look good!
I will also be interested to hear your thoughts on the test ride.

Thanks guys! Yes, I'm very pleased with it (anxiously awaiting a delivery date now!).

I mentioned my friend owns an LBS, so really wanted to buy through him - so the only options really were Cannondale or Bottecchia.

I tried the Cannondale Supersix a few weeks ago (which resulted in this thread) - I'd have not gone for the hi-mod carbon that his had so not quite as expensive - and then waited for a Bottecchia to test.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Anyway....I have a Bottecchia already - their aluminium / carbon fork one called a Duello (my "IVE BOUGHT A NEW BIKE WAHOOO" thread here; http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ) ...so I did fancy sticking with the brand as I quite liked it. That's the bike I've ridden for 4 yrs now, and so what I'm very used to.

The Bottecchia T1, by comparison, is stiff as anything. Much more so than the hi-mod supersix! It shows itself when you stand up and accelerate, the bike feels like it goes as a whole - front to back - rather than just the front with your hands and the back stays where it is. Around corners also it feels like the whole bike goes over and stays the shape it is. It's a difficult thing to explain how the stiffness shows itself, but hopefully that makes sense.

I don't know if its aero capabilities made a difference; it was a good ride, I got lots of PBs, but I did feel good anyway; but I certainly won't shun it!

So, I loved the feel of the Bottecchia, and the look of it (if not quite the paint job; I was after more stealthy, i.e. no red) but the more I look at it, the more I love it. I just don't want to be buying red accessories for ever more biggrin

I really like the red accents on the frame. It'd look a lot more stealthy if you swap out the bar tape for black Lizardskin and de-sticker (or partially so) the wheels?

Funnily enough, that was exactly my plan! It comes with Fulcrum Quattro rather than those wheels, but stickers come off equally easily, and black bar tape would reduce the red...I agree smile

Added a sticker, just in case I forget my own name.

Owned for two years now and still love it! smile

Very nice, Diz!

You don't by chance drive a burgundy/red car in Pirbright do you? (don't want to say too much to give away your home location)

Only a couple of rides old... stem will get cut down when I've got the riding position sorted out.

No, I rode past a few weeks ago and you were out cleaning the car - assumed it was you as you eyed the bike as I rode past and nodded at each other biggrin
