I don't know how I have missed this bike in my hunt for a gravel/adventure bike, it ticks all the boxes with the road gearing, hydraulic brakes and rack mounts. Any feedback would be great!
I took delivery of my Giant XTC 3 Advanced this week, I had to wait almost 6 months for it but Giant gave me a complete bike in exchange for my old aluminium xtc 1 (frame only) - good result for me!
Put my first 18miles on the bike 'this morning, I have mixed feelings about the bike currently, something didn't feel quite right, I'm wondering if it's the 100mm stem and slightly narrower bars compared to my other bikes which run 50/60mm stems with wider bars - I thought long stems had pretty much gone on MTB's or is it because this is more xc focused?

its the first carbon MTB I've had and it's heavier than I expected, think it needs to go on a diet!
I have some plans for it,
Shorter stem and replace bars (probably swap bars from another bike after an upgrade)
Rigid Forks (see other thread)
Maybe go Single Speed - the drop outs allow this without the need for ap Tensioner
Wheels, the originals are Tubeless ready but I have some hopes (off the replaced bike) so may put them on - need to do a weight check.
Didn't think much of the brakes maybe an upgrade is required...

I've been running a 2010 Felt Z2 for several years as my main summer ride. It was a steal when I got it and has 7950 Di2 and from the first ride I was hooked on electronic shifting. Is been a very good bike and still gets a lot of use. A few years ago I got a Shand Stoater single speed belt drive set up as a dedicated winter commuter.
This year I decided to treat myself to one last bike before my body says no more. I spec'd a Madone 9 in Waterloo blue, with Zipp 404 NSWs and SRAM Etap. The Etap doesn't have the outright shipping performance of Di2 but once dialled in it is very close. The shifting logic is far superior and the whole set-up feels very solid. The wireless integration to my Garmin is a really nice feature also. The Madone frame on these wheels is a dream to ride. Exceptionally comfortable and fast (faster than me.....!).

Nice colour way, is that a standard scheme or did you Project One it? I have a 9.9 in H1 fit been running since April, it's a beast. My Parlee ESX doesn't see light of day, as the Madone feels so much faster. The only bugger with them is travelling, if you have spacers they are a bugger but also the internal cabling makes taking the bars off a faff - although you have eTap which might solve that issue. I've had to adjust the rear brake a couple of times given rubbing with widish Carbon rims (I run Enve 6.7 which are similar width to the Zipps). Worth keeping an eye on that. It's one of the standard schemes on Project One. In sunshine the colour really pops out at you, but this picture doesn't really do it justice.

I've not had the front end apart other than removing the brake shroud, but the mechanic who cut the steerer tube down did say that Etap makes the front end a little less complicated, but not much.

Only one answer for that.....upgrade the winter steed 
I got a Dogma in January so my previous main bike (Carbon framed Basso) was relegated to wet/winter duty. Having gotten used to the Dogma, it was only fair I passed on some of the upgraded items to the Basso (and treated her to some further).
New rims (Campo Shamal), carbon pedals, Super Record cassette plus carbon stem & post have taken it down to near Dogma weight and made me fall in love with her again....despite crippling her with mudguards and 4Season tyres.
I am actually winterising my Felt, but currently I'm commuting on a Shand Stoater single speed with Gates belt drive. This will be the 4th winter on this bike with only a rear hub service and some new brake pads. It's a great commuter, but slow....!
I'll use the Felt on less extreme days and the Shand (with mud guards) when it really wet. Like today was.....!

I've totally given up on long commutes into the city since I crashed my nice bike and the light faded in september (too dark for me on the narrow country roads outside the M25 to feel safe). I am really missing it though. I'm due an office move soon and considering a winter single-speed to bomb between London Bridge and the new office at Liverpool st. but since it will be parked at the station much of the time thinking about trying spend minimally and buy something sacrificial that rides well but a thief would ignore. This thread is torture!

My bike has changed a fair bit since it was last posted in this thread: including a 1x10 conversion and most importantly a PH smiley.

I think that's the Dogma that they used for their classic campaign.I was pretty sure I was going to replace my Cube Agree GTC Race with another Carbon bike but this time a more aero one with either deep wheels or Di2 but I saw this at a bargain price so I had to have it- It's pretty much the complete opposite of what I set out to buy!!
If anyone can recommend a decent disc wheelset upgrade not more than £600 that would be great as the Mavics on it are pretty heavy.
