Registration now open...

I'm a little confused by the options though... seeing as I'll just be going for Thurs-Sunday, I believe I'll get a "Pack Bronze: Megavalanche Alpe d'Huez, Pass 4 days", however, anyone care to explain what the "MEGA AMATEURS" and "MEGA AFFINITY" races are? Are they included/part of the Megavalanche?

Also, looking here (for the full schedule of events), there seems to be little mention of those who qualify beyond 200th place... ??

It's all one race, but it's split to allow the waves enough space on the course.

So, the top 400 qualify for the Megavlanche on Saturday
The next 400 for the MegaPromo 1 (on Sat)
The next 400 for the MegaPromo 2 (on Sun)
The next 400 for the MegaAffinity 1 (on Sat)
The final races for the MegaAffinity 2. (on Sun)

The Megavalanche and MegaPromo are 'races' with a standing start, the MegaAffinity is timed, with racers able to go off at any time. The Affinity is useful if you all want to ride together for instance.

The basic packs just give you the race itself and the lift pass for 4 days. The next packs give you a 7 day pass, and the top pack gives you the Sprint Oz race - an event well worth doing if you enjoy World Cup DH courses...

I think thats right, feel free to correct me if I've got it wrong at all, but thats the jist of it.

Thanks Neil.

So there's a chance that between myself and my mate that is going, one could qualify for the race on the Saturday, and the other for the race on the Sunday?

Also, if you qualify to race on the Saturday, can you race again on the Sunday or is that then it? (and vice versa Sunday/Saturday I guess)

Cheers.

To be honest, once you've done the race, most people are in no fit state (nor are their bikes) to ride the next day.

I had a very sleepy Moon in the car next to me after he did his first one and we went to Cham afterwards...
