One of my mates who is also a PH reader / poster just took part in the Rad Am Ring 24 hour bike race.

Would anyone be up for putting a team or couple of teams together for next years race?

Yes. As mentioned on the other thread, I daftly missed it this year.

Count me in as part of a 4-man team. I'm sure we could get more than 1 team together.

How about a PH team cycling jersey with a 'ring motif around the PH logo?

Can do 8 man teams now apparently, in which case I'm in smile

Are 3x1hr stints each enough, especially with a 7hr wait between sessions? I think 6x1hr stints each would be more challenging and exciting whilst still not being "too" tough.

I suppose it depends on how many PHers take part, then we can build teams accordingly.

I don't see anything in the rules against multiple team members going out at once, it's just only one of them can carry the transponder. Means we could treat it like a mini team time trial and get a paceline going hehe

How have I never heard of this before? It's all kinds of awesome. I've done 10 man teams at Mayhem and a 4 man team at Sleepless but I had no idea there were road equivalents... on closed roads... on the bloody Ring for crying out loud. That's got to be a great race surely!

Teams of 4 would be the only way to do this! It would be pointless to do it any ther way I think

FWIW the Race Around Ireland starts in about 10 days time. Too late to enter this year, but a savage challenge nonetheless, about 2200km over 3-4 days, continuous riding in shifts. There are solo, 4 and 8 man teams. I'm in a 4 man team, was due to cycle but ITBS means I have to crew instead so someone else has taken my place.

I'll be taking part again next year, it will be good to see some of you out there. I'm not sure i'll ever forget the first lap in the dark, pitching into MHM at 30+ mph whilst dodging other riders is bloody fantastic.

Oh, It's hilly..

Actual lap length is 16 miles and the quick do it in around 45 - 50 minutes, my quickest lap was 58 I think. The climb from Breidscheid to the top of Hohe Acht is a mother fker!

hi. what's the app?

mtb'ing round the outside can be done in around 90 mins, so under 60 mins on a roadbike round the circuit seems feasible.
