Candy Bros Candy C spring failure

On a fairly routine 50 mile trip into the Pennines this weekend, my right foot pops out of the pedal. I initially thought I'd pulled out of the clip, but the cleat wouldn't re-engage so stopped at the road side to discover that the spring on the drive side pdeal had snapped! This means the clet does not clip in to the pedal, and renders the pedal an expensive paperweight!

This meant I had to walk to the nearest station and endure a 40 minute train journey back home.

Question is, has anyone else experienced this, and did you have any joy with Crank Bros warranty claim for a replacement set of pedals?

I have not had experience of this failure but from what I have read you should be ok with the warranty side and Crank Brothers.
