Really? 
For those who would like to obtain it:
1. Go to the US iTunes site
2. If you have no US account, create one, with a false address (or a real one)
3. Don't enter a payment method
4. Get a US iTunes voucher (I used 4saleUSA.com, seemed to work well)
5. Redeem your voucher
6. Buy Life Cycles from the US store
7. Sit back and enjoy
As yet I've not figured out how to get it out of iTunes in a legal way, but there, I am sure, ways to do this.
This just does for me until I get my physical copy.
Luckily, I've a Mac Mini wired up to my TV, so I get to enjoy it in it's HD glory

Chaps. They've only just received the bleedin' Blu-rays in Canada to ship out to the rest of the world - they're totally disorganised at best, and with the weather holding everything up, I wouldn't hold your breath on getting it on time...nessiemac said:

I watched this last night. I'm not really in to tricks, downhill or mountain bikes in general, so parts of it started to drag on for me, but it really is a truly beautiful piece of film making.
Are there other films like this about worth buying? I don't mind watching mtb stuff (I have Follow Me), but prefer road/track/fixed gear stuff.

Most mountain bike movies tend to have, hilariously, mountain bikes and stuff in them...I'd imagine a movie about those riders cracking out a nice uphill ride or 25 miles on their road bikes would be a bit dull...
I wouldn't buy a road bike movie generally because it doesn't interest me, so I'm stumped as to why you'd do so and then grumble about there being tricks in it! It's fair enough that it doesnt float your boat, but to mumble about it's content!
As it is, for an MTB movie it has very little in the way of tricks, riding or aggressive riding in it - as you say, concentrating more on the ride and the environment around the rider.
Sheesh.
As for similar movies, try Roam and Seasons, but be warned, they contain tricks, downhill and mountain bikes.
If you want two quick movies (I'm no snowsports buff) try Claim, and also Thats It, Thats All. Again, careful. Also contains tricks.

It's chuffing ace. Just simply gets better and better.
So many little riding nuances I don't notice, body positioning etc.
ps top tip US iTuners. You can import it into your normal iTunes library, you just have to authorise the computer to be used to play files brought from your US iTunes account.

t. I turned it off after around 30mins because it was just so boring! If I wanted to watch the weather change I'd put on National Geographic, the first section of riding was good but after that I found I kept having to rewind bits because I'd just turned off due to boredom.

Personally, I'd recommend the latter: it's...meh. Yes, the filming and whatnot is good, but that's it. It's an arty film with the occasional reference to bikes, rather than a "bike movie", or as the makers claimed, "a movie about a bike".
The first bit with the summer/winter transitions stuff dragged on for too long, the second bit was more a farming documentary with some bikes jumping around in the background...and the rest I struggle to recall as I dozed off: there's only so much slow-motion you can watch before it really starts to drag.

The UK itunes popped up a couple of days after.
I think everyone is totally entitled to their opinions - and I can understand why people might think it's slow.
However, Life Cycles should be considered in the same light as That's It, Thats all and Claim. Both are not balls out trick crazy bk grabbing movies - but simply tour de forces in fantastic shooting, environment and editing.
If you want your NWD's, go get your NWD's - but they suffer from the lagging bits as does the Seasons and Roams of this world.
Additionally Life Cycles is a grower in my eyes - you don't see certain things at first. For example, the mechanics section seemed a bit wierd at first but it's twigged for me now (being a mechanic myself) and how it's all about the enjoyment of servicing a bike with care and attention; shown clearly by a very subtle hand movement at the end of some wheel truing - something I do when I've completed a tru-up.
Gotta give it a chance guys - it's more than just tricks that make a good movie.

Completely agree with you on this - it's really not supposed to be like any "normal" MTB film. I was at the premier in Glasgow in early Nov and it was screened with VAST, which is along the same lines as the NWD series. Both great films, both about MTBing, but from utterly different perspectives. I think everyone is totally entitled to their opinions - and I can understand why people might think it's slow.

Personally I've asked for Life Cycles AND VAST for my birthday/Christmas but it's doubtful either will arrive in time
