are cleats all the same?

Cheers for the info guys. Bought some 540's from halfords for £35 (£25 worth of vouchers so only cost a tenner).

Fitted the cleats to my shoes so i could ride the zaskar yesterday for the first time. The xtr pedals dont half hold your foot in place dont they? Got some strange looks because of its retro looks, but my LBS loved it and couldnt believe it was the mbuk zaskar.

I'll fit the 540's to my stumpy tonight and hopefully get a ride in at the weekend as the zaskar is cleaned and away until a bit better weather comes.
