Nearly bought one of these a while ago, but for some reason I didn't. Just remembered about them and once again am thinking of getting one. However, being USB, is it going to be much use to a mountain biker (or rather, the first person who comes across you)? Would the emergency services be able to get the info off it when they need to?

I wear one of these when on my motorbike. Apparently the emergency services will look for these, and can pull the data off them. (Typically only when in the hospital though)

I guess it depends how much information the emergency services need about you. I'm not taking meds/no known allergies etc so in the past I had a couple of normal dog tags made up with emergency contact details on but now I wear one of these when out and about.

Has lasted well with almost continous use including lots of running, cycling & walking. The good thing about these is that the info is contained on a waterproof paper-type insert so v easy to update if needed. Got a couple for the kids just in case they ever get lost. Again probably more useful just as ICE contact details instead of any medical records/meds/allergies.

Seems they do loads of other types as well. I have no links with the above site apart from buying from them a few times.

I don't see the advantage of a digital one, what does it do that a wristband/helmet tag/card in your wallet doesn't (apart from be much harder to get the info off)?

Depends on which hospital. There are some hospital where no USB devices are allowed - at all.

This is the reason I'm not entirely sure, what if they can't get the info off it straight away? Maybe better to just get a standard one.
