Gatorskins all day everyday.
I rode straight through the remains of a broken wine bottle on the kingsland road yesterday and thought my goose was cooked.
Not at all. The Gatorskins are top draw. I wouldn't use anything else now.

I find Armadillos are easier to get on and off the rim when swapping front to back. The only punctures I've had on either were when I rode over a massive expansion joint, which I won't be doing again...

Out of interest (so that we can avoid them!) what tyres are you running at the moment?
For the record, my bike is still on the Schwalbe Luganos it came with and they've stood up well to the rigours of a daily London commute. I've not had a puncture in over 1000 miles.

Sorry but I have never had more than 30 miles out of a set of Gatorskins.
I use Vredstein Fortezza's they grip well too.
Hmmmmm? I am thinking about switching my Gatorskins over from the 'old iron horse' to my new Merida. 2,500 miles on the Contis, all trouble free and they are good'n'grippy. Vittorio Rubinos that came fitted to the Merida have not, so far, inspired the same level of confidence, and are holding me back from committing fully to fast corners and descents, although if I could get a chance to ride it in the daylight on dry roads I might be able to compare new with old more objectively. I use Vredstein Fortezza's they grip well too.
