Hi
I was thinking about swapping my old Claud B hybrid for a more speed oriented Hybrid (however I want flat bar - sorry purists!) and I found the Bottecchia 804 on the web.

Not a brand I've heard of before and there only seems to be one distributor, but it does fit exactly my needs and I like the look of it.

Does anyone on here have an 804 (or can comment on the brand generally)? Also anyone know if these can be bought anywhere else other than the one distributor that came up in google? I was hoping to find somewhere doing credit options.

Cheers

It's a name I've not heard for a while but they do have some pedigree. wink

I'm not well up on their current range but they are a top flight brand and their top end road bikes are lick. In fact, most of their stuff is and I've just been looking at the 804 on Fat Birds and that is one good looking hybrid. Most are more the "town & country" style with mudguards and slightly knobbly tyres but that looks properly fast for something with flat bars.

I've not used Fat Birds personally (fnar fnar hehe) but from what I hear they do have a good reputation.

Cheers mate - the 804 is about the sexiest hybrid I've seen for around the £500 mark and like you I've found out that the company has some quite exalted history behind it.

Might be worth a trip to Norfolk then!! (I'm still extremely wary of buying a bike without a quick whizz round the car park on it).

I've got a Bottechia B35, very very sexy, my only criticism to date is some of the cap screws seem to be coated in a special finish designed to rust at the first sight of angel tears weeping

Not a biggie as I'll be replacing them with some titanium numbers in the better weather.

Fat Birds are very helpful yes
