Finally succumbed, and the Evans £50 voucher from Christmas helped, and bought my first pair of Lycra shorts as my arse is really suffering from the saddle this year.

Looked in the mirror and shock! horror! I've seen lady cyclists with a bigger package. Better stuff a saveloy down there but currently hiding the shorts under baggy 3/4s.

Surely beetle bonnet would be more apt.

I don't do the whole Lycra thing. I have baggy cycling shorts with a padded tight fitting lining. I have a few pairs (Polaris, endura, decathlon) and out of all of them, the decathlon ones are the comfiest and best made.
