Unsure myself tbh. Mine are ok, but nowhere near as good as another guys in the office (although he does ride his bike a lot less than me). I wore out my original pads and replaced the fronts with Shimano and the rears with LifeLines, neither seem perceptably better or worse than the others. I also replaced the standard rotors with a set of the Shimano Icetech triple layer ones as I hit a car before Christmas and the front one got bent. Again, can't say I've noticed any perceptable difference to the TRP originals.
I imagine that as with all disk brakes, keeping the pad alignment perfect, the rotors clean and free from grease and bedding the pads in properly is essential.
My 1st set on mine where awful, they ended up replacing the rotor and pads on the 2nd service. I imagine that as with all disk brakes, keeping the pad alignment perfect, the rotors clean and free from grease and bedding the pads in properly is essential.
Its better now but no ball of fire, the 105 on my allez seems better.
Also got a big box of stuff on way from Planet X none of which was needed.
bib shorts, a soft shell/jersey thing, a few cheap tools, a variety of bottles (can never have enough, have a cupboard full but still seem to need more), couple of their cheap Garmin out front mounts etc etc.
Also just received a BETD machined hanger to replace the bent Boardman original on my FS pro which lasted precisely 2 rides.

After not doing anything for a while I've decided to update my 2010 vintage Stiffee with a shorter stem and wider bars. Went for a Funn Tron 60mm stem and Ragley 760mm bars. Had 90mm/680mm before and it makes a surprisingly big difference. Feels like I have much more authority over the bike.

New frame ordered today for me.
I've been looking at the Tripster frames for about 18 months now and never quite went for one, trying another couple of frames instead with not much luck on the sizing front. The Tripster sizing is perfect for me and is my first try of a titanium frame. Hopefully it'll live up to the expectations.
Gratuitous picture during the build process:
I have a pic if anyone is interested.
I can't believe I'm already having to put lights on my bike, it seems like 5 minutes ago I was putting my lights away for the summer.
Anyway, new lights fitted today and I tucked the battery away in an old drinks bottle and tried to tidy up the cable as much as possible -

Not in the same league but I needed some extra wattage so I ordered a 600xl from Cycle Republic, when I went to collect they couldn't find one so they gave me one of these instead for the same price and still gave me 10% off with my British Cycling card.

Right then. Not owned a bike since 1981 when I started Grammar School - bought one today - Halfords special - Carrera Subway 2. Negotiated almost £100 off marked price so really pleased.
I am a big bloke - on a mad fitness/losing weight spree - also have a big head so had trouble finding a decent helmet. Went for the Boardman Pro - it was the best fitting one - in fact the only one that was comfortable. I only dislike the fact it has no visor, just from an aesthetic POV.
Halfords are doing their bit now - I collect on Friday!

Not a bike bit per se but a new towel for the shower after my commute.
I much prefer this rougher-textured one to the smoother type as it seems to absorb more water more quickly

(plus these mirofibre towels dry faster and don't make the changing rooms stink like wet dog blankets)

It's a Hope R8, it did a very good job of dazzling everybody coming the opposite way, I couldn't find the 3 low power settings, only the 3 high power settings.I've now read the manual and should be able to venture back out again with it.
