This. It wasn't the cheapest lid out there, but I value my head.

With my birthday coming up, and everyone clubbing together, I'm thinking about some Bont shoes. Anyone have any experience? Reviews seem generally favourable.

Yup, I have a pair of Vaypors and rate them highly - it takes a couple of goes to 'bake' them to the shape of your foot but once they are the right shape they are fantastic. Be warned they feel very different to other cycling shoes due to the shape of the soles which go half the way up the shoe. They are also extremely stiff, so if you like shes with a bit of flex then these are probably not a good option.

Personally I would buy them again in the blink of an eye......

Bought some Crank Brothers Cobalt 2 XC handle bars as the ones on the Yeti are too narrow for me, with 69% off and weigh in at £12.99 seemed rude not to.

Picked up a new pair of road bike shoes as an upgrade to my old Shimano R064s.

Pair of R170 shoes in black. Picked them up in their Easter sale for €89 (£75) from Alltricks.fr. They've still got the R107's at €84 too.

Feel much better, ratchet strap means I can loosen the Velcro on the instep and save my toes from going numb on long rides. They've been out through 2 road races so far, all good. Getting used to grey 3° Look Keo cleats on these too.

Just bought a waterproof, gloves, socks and glasses from Aldi. Basic stuff but not bad for under £20! It'll be interesting to see how they last.

I got a triathlon suit, a folding bike lock, a pair of cleat shoes, a pair of socks, a cycle computer, some puncture repair foam and a rucksack, from Aldi just now. The lot came to 70 quid. I bought a load of stuff from them a couple of years ago. Despite serious use, it's all still working. If this lot is as good, that's my winter riding kit sorted for a couple of years minimum. The Tri suit is just for fair weather, so by my reckoning, I'll get about 20 years out of it.

Essential if everyone else in your riding group has one! Jumping off the bike 20+ times a day to raise and lower the seat manually and being left behind aint much fun.

Wiggle Order

Assos LS jersey (they did a Price Match which was nice)
Castelli Aero Bib Shorts
Zero Tabs (Berry)
C3 Dry Lube
M042 Spray
Speedo Goggles (Mirrored)
1.5K of Torq Energy (Lemon/lime)
Free Haribo biggrin

I may as well change my homepage to Wiggle these days.

GB Cycles
Assorted Gels since I've gone off PowerGels and GU's are increasingly difficult to find locally.
Turns out ZipVits Cherry is bloody awful. Not optimistic about the Bakewell Tart flavour I've got left
Torq Apple Crumble is good.
Not got to the SIS ones yet.

Probikekit have a sale on, so some spare pedals for a fraction more than the cleats are normally:

Also a few bits and bobs from Aldi. Lightweight jackets seem value, the socks are about right, and the mist are a bit st, but fine for commuting.

Brilliant tyres these (in my limited experience). Run them on 2 of my bikes, great grip and dont puncture easily.

I don't like cluttered handlebars but I also have a dislike of people in cycle lanes, paths etc so this is needed!

I bought a pair of Sidi Genius 5-fit shoes from CRC but they'll have to go back as the left shoe won't take the cleat frown The base plate appears to be badly fitted so the threads are recessed too far into the sole to allow one of the screws to engage.

I could probably bodge a fix or just find a longer screw but when you spend that much on shoes you want them to be right!
