Took these back as they started to show signs of wear after just 2 or 3 rides!

I, er... seem to have spent about £50 in Aldi. Winter softshell, 100% merino base layer, Roubaix tights... It had better be a cold winter.

Now the long wait until delivery begins. ETA Christmas week. Don't try to evade the swear filter, Santa.
I do like that. In what cost ball park is one of these should a large pot of money somehow land in my lap without my wife noticing?

Steve
£2,699 + a couple of options + delivery

I used Canyon's sizing wizard and it reckon I need a Large. I'm 6'4" and ride an upright 60 at the moment so I was a bit surprised too. I did read that they ride a size larger than they are, so it might be right. I've asked them to double check the measurements before they build it though. And the options I mentioned above was the saddle with extra setback range, just in case it's undersized.
I'm 6'1" and have a size L (59) Aeroad, I have always felt it is on the larger side of large.

One of these. Naturally because it goes with the new bike.

Cool, that's more reassurance that they've got it right in my case then.

Steve, I checked out lots of different options at the £2,500 mark and the Aeroad SLX feels like a clear winner in the VFM stakes. 7kg aero frame (as ridden by Rodriguez et al) with Ultegra and Cosmics - feels like a bargain at £2,699.

Delivered to work yesterday, put it together when I got it home, didn't take it out for a test because it had been raining and I didn't want to get it dirty tongue out

Didn't post a pic of the forks when they arrived, so here they are, along with the Crank Brothers Iodine 3 wheel set that arrived today to complete the 20mm front axle conversion.

Forks are X-Fusion Vengeance 140-170mm with all the adjustments.

I picked one of their jerseys and found the rear panel too itchy and a bit odd, so it went back. To be honest, I didn't think it was that much cheaper the bottom of the range DHB stuff from Wiggle.

I've been offered one of these
http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/mountain-bik...
for £450, I'm not flush atm but think I could offload my 2014 scott aspect 740 for maybe £375 (cost £550 6 months ago), how good a deal is the Boardman?

That's quite a hit to take on the Scott, the Boardman has nice forks and hydraulic brakes so looks like it'll be a nice upgrade. I have an mx race hybrid and love it.

I'd rather get £400-£425 for it but it's an XL so limited market and the Boardman is almost half price (£849), I may have to offload my winter roadie to justify...

Yes I'm just talking myself into it....

Just ordered myself a set of Campagnolo Zondas biggrin

Thanks to those on here who replied to my thread the other week and convinced me it was a good idea!

Threw in some new tyres and light as well while I was at it. Can't wait for Thursday now, got a week off to go out and try them smile

Tricky. Fork is an upgrade but I'd rather have the Shimano drivetrain on the Scott vs Sram & Shimano BR-M395 are fine hydros vs Avids. I think I'd hold out for a better fork for the Scott when funds allow, will cost less than depreciation if you sell it (man maths calculation that), or a bigger step up new bike.

Bought a complete Shimano 600AX groupset to put on my NOS Vitus 979 MkII frameset. This is getting very expensive very quickly.
