The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread

Downgraded from clipless to flats at the weekend, wow! No more wobbles at junctions, no more slow speed paranoia and no more walking into the office like ive been bummed sideways with those bloody cleats and plastic bottomed Shimano shoes.
On the daily commute the positives of flats outweigh clipless for me, plus £17 for a pair that weight sod all sealed the deal.
Back to basics!
Loving the Team Carbon ATM, easy to adjust gears, brakes and just learned how to true the back wheel properly. The pads are nearly worn out, shame as braking performance with these nearly worn out pads is the best they ever have been.

New set of XTR gear cables fitted at the weekend and finally adjusted last night have brought the crispness back to the front and rear shifting, now don't have to shift up twice & down once (or vice versa) to get the indicated gear. Still need a new chain & cassette that I didn't get about 6 mths ago though.
Just fitted some Continental Vertigos, DMR flatties and a mavic 517+ hope hub front wheel to the x4 hard tail and so far am very impressed at what a difference and how confidence inspiring having decent rubber an pedals can be.
And I keep finding myself on Ebay looking for a full susser when I don't really need one but have a urge to find a sub 16inch frame bike to take up the woods now an again.

i know you'll say i can get better spec for the price, but i've ridden one and found it absolutely fantastic

I thought I had posted this but obviously not. A set of look keo classic pedals and lake cx211 triathlon shoes. My first venture in to the world of clipless.
I've also ordered grey cleats, I hope that's the right thing to do?
clipless pedals make a massive difference, especially over long distances and up hills. you shan't be disappointed! just set them quite loose to start with!I've also ordered grey cleats, I hope that's the right thing to do?
Just bought a Jetstream P8 to take to London by train each day - needed a folding bike able to cope with a 20 mile trip over the Cotswolds twice a day.

Got £350 off by doing a price match deal with Evans.

Not bike bits per se but bike related none the less.
I've just got a bikeboxalan bike case. Stupidly good bit of kit. My Addict R1 has an integrated post & getting it into my old case (Scicon Atlas) involved taking the chainset out, with this one it's bars off, seat off & in she goes.
2nd training trip to Mallorca today & hopefully she'll still be in piece when I land!

Just bought and fitted my American Classics...
Next purchase next week will be: -
SRAM Red Carbon Chainset
Look Keo Carbon Pedals
MOst Lion Carbon Stem 100mm
MOst lion Carbon Bars 41cm
Then my life will be complete....
There is only problem i am experiencing with the wheels is that cannot select the largest cog on the Cassette, i think i missed off a spacer when i swapped the cassette over, but before i realised this i have adjusted the rear derralier out of kilter so badly that i think i need to take it into my local bike shop
