I've just had a Muc Off Chain cleaning machine delivered:
I had been dropping hints for Christmas, but none bought me it, so ordered it myself. The plan is to give my bike a good clean tomorrow after some very muddy rides over the last few days.
I've got a Park Tools version of the same thing. I use a tin of Gunk from Halfords, loads cheaper than the recommended degreaser and lasts forever - gets the chain clean enough to eat your dinner off.I had been dropping hints for Christmas, but none bought me it, so ordered it myself. I have found that despite wearing overboots my feet are still getting cold, I think the issue is the cold air coming through the sole of the shoe. I've just had this lot delivered

Hopefully I'll be back out on the bike tomorrow night, I've not been on it since november.

I've resorted to too pairs of socks and two sets over overshoes when its almost freezing and below! Waterproof Endura pair over shoes then a pair of Mavic Thermo plus on top of those. Was -4 when I set out yesterday and feet stayed warm all day.yellowjack said:

It has just been suggested on our club's page that wrapping your feet in foil is also a good way to keep them warm. Worth a try.

I've heard this too so tried it on Sunday. Didn't work. If it's meant to act as a windproof layer then a non-conductive material (e.g. sandwich bag) is probably better. Alu foil will simply act to conduct heat away from the foot (it's metal after all).To be fair it didn't get above freezing on yesterday's ride, so was an extreme day.

Surely both will just make your feet sweat - and then colder due to them being wet? Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
