I fancied the SL 8 too, just for the way the Dura-Ace chainset looks!

But I couldn't justify it either. Too big a jump over the SL 6, and besides, I'd already moved up in price from the SL 5 to escape the 'snot green' colour scheme on the 105 build wink

I found the red one to be a bit 'challenging' at first, but as soon as I saw one close up in a shop, I was converted. It's hard to photograph it and do justice to the colour, I think. I'm very happy with my choice, even though I've not ridden it very much yet.

tSC Free, is that a praxis bb30 to normal bb conversion? Have you fitted it yet? Will you let me know how you get on with it, where from etc? Been looking at solutions to the bb30 constant creak, but I can't find much info on the praxis conversion, although it looks to be the best bet?

It's Specialized OSBB converter to enable ultegra hollowtech 2 cranks to be fitted. I asked a couple of people and they came highly recommended. The frameset I'm building came with delrin spacers and plastic cups to fit hollowtech 2, but I figured why go to the bother of buying a stiff frame only to induce the possibility of more movement and associated creaking. No doubt there will be some disadvantages, possibly weight? I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives from Sigma Sport.

Thanks tscfree, I'd appreciate that. I'll look into that to see if it will fit my frame (caad10). If nothing else, I am fancying an upgrade to 11 speed, and the cheapest way seems to be a 105 group set, so I need a way of fitting a hollowtech2

88mm carbon front wheel for the TT bike. From eBay & shipped from China. Did a bit of research & Carbonzone get favourable comments so went for one of their offerings. I paid the princely sum of £80 for it including carbon specific pads, they use a Novatec hub, bladed spokes & a slightly agricultural looking skewer. Postage was £50 with a customs fee of £30 so all in it cost me £160. I've had it on the jig & it's perfectly true, spoke tension is spot on & overall it looks pretty fine...which leaves me with the following thought. Either it's cheap for a reason & will self destruct the 1st time I clought a Cheshire pothole or everything else massively overpriced....or somewhere inbeteeen, possibly.

Tom, I'd be really grateful for a close up of the clearance between the back wheel and the seat tube on the S3, I assume you are running 25s? that looks much closer than most other bikes I have seen! Would be interesting to hear what you think of it too.... and that slam and flip stem looks uber pro!

Yep, running 25mm tyres. I'll get you one this evening, its close, but not uncomfortably so.

Went for a very brief ride last night, seatpost was slipping so need to carbon paste for that which I'll get today. I'm coming from a 2009 carbon Giant Defy, I was always of the opinion this was a decent bike, and didn't flex much at all. Until I rode the Cervelo. It feels ridiculous to be honest, every bit of effort transferred to the road, can't beleive how different, connected and lively it felt. Still not 100% on Di2 though, riding with gloves was sometimes difficult to get used to the buttons, as well of the lack of feeling you get with mechanical. Did like the shifting across the cassette with a button hold though.

Will be on a fast training ride tomorrow, then will be racing on the 29th, so really looking forward to seeing how it rides those.

Enve 6.7 wheels for the roadbike - coming very soon.

Re Praxis, I've just put one of their BB into my OSBB tarmac, so far so good, it looked like the best permanent solution to me, no creaking, no 'adapters' fecking hate adapters, recipe for creaks. Praxis stuff not cheap but I get impression its built to last.

6.7's lush...

I looked at a mates Praxis BB at the weekend. You have to fit their cranks as well don't you? Anyway, it looked well built and everyone I know who has fitted them report they are bulletproof.

Meanwhile the OSBB in the Venge is mullered again. Going to have to do something with that now.

No, so I had OSBB and wanted to run GXP, so you remove all signs of the OSBB crap, put the praxis BB in and run your normal cranks. I understand they make the unit for all common crank types, see here - http://www.praxiscycles.com/conversion-bb/ - I couldn't be doing with creaks so so decided to go with a perma option from the get go.

I had the wahoo blue sc fitted to my bike and got a nice mount for my iPhone, works great on turbo but phone battery died after 18ish miles on a ride so an epic fail leaving me with no phone if something goes wrong! I had a GARMIN edge 200 for about a year prior to that and it didn't skip a beat, I sold it for nearly what I paid for it as I wanted something with maps. So after quite some time just using Strava on my phone I've bought this.

I was going to get the Edge 810 but the 1000 had the ability to input a distance and it picks 3 round trip routes for you, so I had to opt for it. It also has temperature, sat nav, weather, maps and even tells you who's texting you!

Needless to say I'm very happy so far.

(I know I have the out front mount on backwards but with the stem mount the unit is s bit tight on the stem and I don't like the out front look)

58mm x 112mm unit size, 36mm x 65mm (3" diagonal) display screen size apparently. So about 40% longer and 10mm wider than my Edge 500.

£288.79 - Edge 1000 only http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/garmin-edge-100...
£329.56 - unit complete with Speed/Cadence/Heart rate sensors http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/garmin-edge-100...

Handtec have 'Newly Overhauled' Edge 800s priced at £180, with 1 year's manufacturer's warranty, "available soon", if you don't want/need the Edge 1000... http://www.handtec.co.uk/garmin-edge-800-noh-black...

Yes it is bigger than I would have liked and that nearly put me off it, but what it does turned me around. I did see those prices but they are in Germany and quite fancied having somewhere I could return it if I needed.
