Excuse my ignorance, but they seem like fairly heavy wheels for £500 a pair. Are they that much more aerodynamic that they justify the weight increase over similarly priced wheels which would be up to 500g lighter?
They're selling for £500 now?

Ouch. Shame I didn't buy in bulk.

Gearing up for the Tour, I've gone for a 32T cassette & rear mech. Also splashed out on a pair of fiziks ahead of a bike fit next week.

A garmin edge 510 performance bundle plus extra cadence sensor (2 bikes).
Looking forward to seeing the data in front of me as I go and also the heart rate and cadence stats.... Not to mention the suffer scores on strava!!

I'm looking at getting a garmin - mainly so that I can plot routes and use as a type of satnav when riding. Will also use it abroad for the same reason. I'm thinking the 800 looks the best? Rather than the 500 series? But not read much on them yet. How do they function with strava? Would it be possible for example - to see when I was entering / completing segments or not?

I'd rule the 500 out of you want Nav, as the best it will do is let you follow a breadcrumb trail with no background map. 800 will give you Nav, with free maps available across the world.

As for strava, can be set to sync from Garmin connect, (garmins own tracking site)

You won't be able to see when you're entering segments on rides, only afterwards.

I've just bought the Edge 1000, I was going to get the 810 as the 1000 is quite big! Garmin do their own segment thing so you could use them and I've set my 1000 to auto sink with Strava, all I have to do is put my phone close to the 1000 and it syncs/uploads the ride. Take a look at the Garmin Touring as that has maps and some nice features and is a lot cheaper than the 810. The 1000 has a route option where you put in the mileage and the 1000 picks 3 routes for you using the sat nav, It also has weather temperature and allows you read text messages. I had a 200 for a year and then just been strava on my iPhone for a year and must say the 1000 is bloody great (but expensive).

Just finished my lads rebuild

New parts rear xt mech,Deore shifter, chain, clarks exo brakes, suntour epicon air forkwith remote lockout, full bearing change and powder coat frame, stem and bars with new clarks grips for £4 and Isis bottom bracket

Had a spare 9 speed cassette lying around it used to be and 8x2 just 9x1 now

Bought a fox float old prototype of ebay ages ago for £30,much better than the fox vanilla coil that was on it

Shimano rear hub with sunringle rim new bearings and axle fitted, front wheel halo combat, bought the rear combat as well but it won't take a disc as it takes an old 165mm ..standard 160 won't fit.

New to bike bought 2nd hand.. picked up a e thirteen chain device for a tenner on ebay, raceface narrow wide 34t ring & hope headset from pinkbike had dmr v8's and original hussefelt crank that was on it.

It ran a 26" fork marzzochi exr pro as standard so 26" epicon was a lighter air fork

Felt a bit of soreness in my back after the last long ride, I decided that I felt a bit scrunched up and I couldn't comfortably straiten my back to maximise my power output! So I've gone from the standard 75mm +17 degree stem to a 90mm -82 degree (whatever that means? Seems there are two standards of measurement?) Either way, the little extra reach and lower bar height feels more natural on the ride up stand? I'll find out for real over the bank holiday weekend...

Also going to get some black insulation tape and ditch that awful looking bar tape finisher?! Looks more horrendous in the pictures but it's been bugging me for a while now!

Should be everywhere, unless people are adjusting their prices? Or have I missed some subtlety in your post? Apologies if so.

I'm not sure you can buy a Canyon shipped to the UK and pay euros, this year they fixed the GBP prices whereas it used to fluctuate with exchange rates. Might be worth a call direct to Germany but I suspect they'd want you to order through the UK office.

Parts from the likes of bike-discount are priced in euros so can be great value right now.

Been on hols for 10 days so expected spring to have arrived by the time I got home so I ripped of the mudguards and ordered a few new bits ........ Rapha pro team thermo bib shorts and knee warmers which are still awaiting their debut!

Got some more bits for the Athein too ... ultegra 6800 calipers and chainset to replace the 6700 stuff.

Also ordered some Look Keo Blade 2's to go on my Madone so the Aithein will get the Keo Blade carbons. Thats it for spending (for now!).
