That's a flipped stem, for the fully Pro look.
Mostly as they ride tiny bikes and long inverse stems.

The feckers have put them back up to £99.99 (R3 SLs) so I will have to check back in a week or something. Too many hits push the prices up I suspect...
Planet X are feckers for doing that. They do it with bikes as well. They had their new nanolight on the site for £1k and then they upped the price to £1299. Also the bike specs and pricing is constantly changing.

Are you aware of the Planet X discount code?
Not sure of the dscount code, but tried a few from forums. However by being patient, got these Fizik R3 SL shoes for £49.99. I would have paid £69.99 for them last week, but they put them back up to £99.99. By waiting they came down to £49.99 so I instantly pulled the trigger.

Their pricing system is undoubtedly clever, but I like to think I won this time!

All in proportion... wink

(I bought the 40s.)

Also from Planet X, in their 1 hour fire sales:

£99.99 down to £17.99. Should be fine for commuting, right?

Bought a cheapish wheel for my turbo and prefer it to what's on my bike so bought a front to match its a Shimano RS010 700C and I bought two new tyres as well and they are Specialized Espoir Sport Tyres.

Good luck! I bought a pair of the R3Ls last weekend for £49.99 but got emailed a couple days later to say it was a website error and the shoes were not in the warehouse. I didn't fancy the only other pair of 48s so had to get a refund frown

I got a dispatched email today, so some oik from Yodel or some such should be lobbing it over next door's fence in about a week... smile

hehe

I am jealous... Although last week I bought a load of cycling gear to make up for not being able to buy the shoes I didn't actually need, I'm now going to try and find some more nice and shiny non required shoes. biggrin

Dammit, I now have 3 pairs of summer socks, 3 pairs of winter socks, 1 pair of overshoe socks (whatever they are) and two pairs of overshoes on the way from there too. Another £25 to hide from the missus when the credit card bill comes.

Good choice, I have one on my steel commuter bike and it's really comfy, even in normal jeans.

Hand made here in the UK, hence the high price wink

From what I have read, they are meant to be very over engineered, but very very good.

The one in the pic looks great too smile
