The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread
Discussion
Halfords trip today, as I was passing, and the car park wasn't the usual absolute nightmare...
2 of 700 x 18-25c innertubes for the road bike
1 of 700 x 28-38c innertube for the road-ish steel bike
1 pack of spare vulcanising solution for the puncture repair kit
1 pack of replacement rubber patches to top up the repair kit
...absolutely nothing exciting whatsoever.
Also discovered that Halfords don't seem to stock threaded CO2 cartridges, so I'll have to get those elsewhere.

Been accumulating bits for the last couple of months and have at last got round to fitting everything.
I'm aware of the phrase 'ride up grades not upgrades' but my new bits n bobs make me love the bike more which probably means I get out on it more (plus I'm a big tart!)
40mm cheap Chinese carbon clinchers
25c Conti GP4000s tyres
60mm presta tubes
Lifeline carbon pads
Lizard Skin DSP bar tape
Velo Carbon saddle
Red Elite cages
Red skewers
Red chainset bolts
28-13 cassette
KMC X-10SL chain

Just got some sexy FSA carbon cranks for my Boardman Pro Carbon Hardtail. Original weight was 11.2kg (claimed), and ive fitted a carbon handlebar and XT cassette previously, plus lightweight innertubes, so should be down to nearly 10kg now. Planning on some Light Bicycle Company carbon rims next (when funds allow), plus XTR pedals to replace the basic M520's.

Hmm, I ordered that purely on the back of also loving my Prologo saddle.
Let's see how it goes, easy enough to swap out if necessary.
Let me know what you think of it once you get it fittedLet's see how it goes, easy enough to swap out if necessary.
I didn't do a particularly good job fitting it though, I'm a bit annoyed with myself tbh.
Well finally picked up that S-Works Tarmac SL4 today, dropped it off at LBS with a S-Works seat post, Fizik saddle and bar tape.
2 S-Works Turbo 26c tyres.
They will be getting a 52/36 11-28 Di2 Ultegra groupset and fitting this week.
Also fitted new 10sp Ultegra cassette and Ultegra chain to the roubaix ready for tomorrow.
Also some Park Tools PowerLink remover.
It's been an expensive week.

It feels ok, I'll know better after tomorrow's club ride.

Thanks for the update, I found that it never looked as tidy as the Fizik tape, there is too much white edges showing once wrapped and it just generally looked sort of untidy...big disappointment I didn't do a particularly good job fitting it though, I'm a bit annoyed with myself tbh.
