The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread
Discussion
This is a stupid question (although not as stupid as not asking), my Rear Fulcrum 3 got true'd up today, there remains a permanent lateral "dish" in the rim. The shop are advising me to not plan the wheel being stable for long.
Could all be a bit domesday however I am of to Yorkshire for three days next week.
If I borrow or buy some new wheels should the Di2 need to be re-set up on the new wheel or should the cassette sit the same distance off the rear hanger?
Ta.
I was looking at s/h wheels but may now go with these, http://www.mavic.co.uk/wheels-road-triathlon-ksyri... as Merlin are doing them for £521.
Any idea on the Di2?

I suspect it may need adjusting if the hubs are different, though could be wrong.Could all be a bit domesday however I am of to Yorkshire for three days next week.

I know when switching from Fulcrum 7's to Shimano RS80's I needed to have my rear mech (admittedly this is cable, not Di2) adjusted. Whether it's the same for Di2 I've no idea.
Even if it needs changing, its going to be a 1 minute job, either slightly adjusting limit screws, or using the adjust feature built into Di2 to get the shift right...do you know about that? Hold down the button on the terminal then press the shifter in the way you want the micro adjustment to be, it can be done while moving, or still..

Okgo, I didn't know about that; where's the button on the black box? I will look on google now! Thanks.
Any comment on the wheels or should I just get some Cero A30's?!
Should be on the bottom of it...? You press and hold till the red light comes on, then press the rear shifter in which ever way it needs to go, you'll get the idea. Then when you're done press the button again till red light goes out.Any comment on the wheels or should I just get some Cero A30's?!
Those wheels sound good
Been trying to decide what wheels to get / can afford for ages now and just thought I'd have a look at Dura Ace (9000 C24). Now I know they are expensive but they seem much better value than wheels 75% of the price.
Wherls around the £400 mark seem to weigh 1500kg or thereabouts. These are £550 and weigh 384 each!
Seems better to pay the extra!

I'm on the look out for some new wheels for my bike, so far it's a toss up between the shimano c24 dura ace and mavic's ksyrium sle
The mavic's are still a little bit more expense than the dura ace would be with new tyres but the ceramic rim coating should brake better in the wet and last longer than the standard alloy rims on the dura ace.

These are allegedly 1545 grams a pair for £175!

No experience just saw them mentioned in an article the other day.

£175 including tyres too by the look of things. Suspiciously brilliant value.https://www.cycledivision.co.uk/products/wheels/ce...

Off to the South of France for our family holiday in August and the bike is going too... I've got a Saris Bones 3, but no tow bar electrics on the car, so using that isn't really an option. I have access to roof bars and a cycle carrier, but hate the noise of the bars, the bike sits way up high and I don't like clamping the carbon frame, so...
I just bought a Seasucker Talon cycle carrier - it was on offer at PBK, saving £75 over pretty much everywhere else I looked, and it'll also be useable (I think!!) on my new MX-5 when I get it later in the year. It looks strange when you first fit it, but I've tried it on local roads, and it seems rock solid, and an absolute breeze to fit.
Also bought a Sci-con bike defender to keep as many flies as poosible off the front of the bike and a Campagnolo wheel bag to protect the front wheel while it's in the boot...

I have also spent some time looking at wheels
Whilst I keep looking at the Lightweight Meilenstein clincher, they are a so, so much better than my ability that I can't bring myself to invest £3600 in a pair right now.
Anyway, after much umming and ahhing, it was between the Zipp 303s, Campag Bora Ultra 35 and the Rolf Prima Ares 4
All of which are far better than my ability on a bike even comes close to justifying, but anyway, I went for the Rolfs. Ordered them just now.
Just look, they are things of beauty!
