Funny you say that as I did'nt after spending hours configuring different specs and by the sounds of it you experienced what I was put off by.

Okgo - sounds like you've had a nightmare!

Finally found what's making a creak - firstly stripped and cleaned the pedals - nope.
Then replaced the BB (which was fairly worn - XT for Chris King) - nope.
Undid and greased ALL crankbolts - nope.
Checked headset - nope.
Took saddle apart (a while back), cleaned and greased - nope.

FINALLY found out what it was on a 32 miler (that half killed me - almost all offroad and we absolutely caned it - I ran out of water at 20 miles and forgot any snacks - felt drunk by the end of it and could hardy move - oops!) - it's the flipping rear skewer!!

I replaced the front a while back - Hope make good kit but they CANNOT make skewers. It kept coming undone after almost every ride.
Thought the rear one was okay - no it wasn't.

Anyway XTR M970 skewer orderd, The front had an XTR M960 (older style) that works a treat. £35 for a skewer is a lot but hoping it's the last time I'll need to buy one for many years.

Next purchase next week will be: -

SRAM Red Carbon Chainset
Look Keo Carbon Pedals
MOst Lion Carbon Stem 100mm
MOst lion Carbon Bars 41cm

Then my life will be complete....
They look like older 105 shifters as the gear cables not hidden, why are you putting a SRAM red chainset on there? Bit of a waste - it's almost a third of the value of the bike?

Also, The MOst stuff is rebadged from other manufacturers with Pinarello's own brand. None of it is really up to much so I would avoid where possible.

SRAM red can be had for £230 whereas the Cayo is at least £1K.

Regardless, upgrading is easier on the wallet than big boom expenditure, no?

Ok sorry I thought it was £299 for the cranks. £230 is still 1/4 of the value of the bike though. I could understand if he was upgrading the whole groupset but just the cranks? Struggling to see the benefit there, especially when the rest of the groupset is low range.

Dunno... weight? What's "better" about a better groupset? (genuine Q - I have no idea).

Somewhere in the royal mail system is a XT Shadow rear mech, ODI X-Treme grips, a Raceface Atlas bottom bracket and to compliment it a 24/36/bash Raceface Atlas crankset for my Trance - question is shall I tell HWMBO before the postman turns up with them or leave it as a surprise!!

Ah, also a pair of compact chainrings for my road bike. . . . . . . . should probably stop spending for a little while now.

Basically they have had my voucher for a month and for the last two weeks have fobbed me off saying they were waiting for a rear gear component.

I'd understand a 1 day delay, but 10 days is taking the piss, I could have got the bit quicker than that!

Also he said that it wasn't possible for him to keep me in the loop as he had 300 bikes on order! Not my problem pal, hire more staff, tight fisted buggers. They could right a lot of their wrongs by hiring a few more staff so there was an element of customer service, as it does let them down. Still all might be forgiven on Wednesday when I see it.

Amongst other stuff bought in the last week after having my 2 Marin mount visions stolen are:

2 Marin mount visions,
Shimanoe disc brake kit
Stella dual led light set
SRAM chain
Handlebars x 2
Stems x 2

And other bits as well.

Don't you just love it when yout bikes get nicked?

Need a decent lock to carry round as well, but not sure what to get. Not too bothered about one for the garage as there
are all sorts of angle grinders, hacksaws etc in there as wel as the bikes.

Could be worse, they had my money for 2 weeks before telling me they no longer make the frame I wanted and then offered me an inferior frame... for the same price as a good will gesture! shoot

It's an Ultegra groupset (but a crappy Truvative crank) and the bike was 1.5k new.....

I went for ITM Pathom Bars, Seatpost & Stem instead of the MOst stuff...

I would rather upgrade this bike as i love this frame

Had my bike less than a week and have just bought the Pinhead 2 pack lock set (already caught the "must buy shiny bits" bug frown). Anyone else using these?

Well, if I could afford it, I'd buy a SRAM red because it looks so damn good. I have no idea if it would be an improvement to my performance (no chance - the bike isn't a weak link in our partnership) but as a piece of engineering it's certainly a feast for my eyes.

Can't wait to see it on yours.

Went to my LBS to enquire about a noisy Freehub, and left the shop with these beauties, I know they’re not anywhere near top of the range stuff, but great for my needs.
