Each to their own!
To keep the re-post short - can I jump in here please.Where have you got the SKS's from please ? I was looking last week and bought from the only place that seemed to have stock left - but then it turned out they didn't due to the usual ''stock loss' situation. New stock is due in mid November - unless I can find some sooner elsewhere.
Got so mucky last Sunday I hosed down the bike, then Mrs Mercs took her turn and hosed me down - bl@@dy cold ! Need some protection asap.
I finally grew a set, and ordered up some more bits for my project to bring some life back to my 18 year-old Falcon Pro-Line road bike.
Ribble seem to have some VERY keen prices on components right now, and I needed some long-drop brakes, new cables, a decent tool to cut the cables (I'm doing it properly this time, no bodging, no crushed outer cables from a blunt side-cutting pliers ), and some new mudguards to replace a set that are a) way too wide for the tyres that will fit, and b) cracked and broken to buggery, and held together with black tape and cable ties. I've added a set of rubber 'wraps' for the outer cables, to protect what's left of the paint on the old bike, and a complete Frame Protection kit for my other bike, which has seen cable-rub protection provided by and old sock for 4,500 miles this year ( )
Tacx T4835 Cable Cutters - 1 @ £20.95
Shimano Road Brake Cableset Stainless Steel Black - 1 @ £13.99
BBB CableWrap (2 pieces) Black 5mm - 1 @ £5.25
Bike Shield Full Pack Frame Protection Gloss - 1 @ £22.75
Tortec Reflective Guards Black 700x27-35 - 1 @ £25.95
Shimano R650 57mm Brake Set - 1 @ £58.95
Less 10% (discount code) and the whole shebang comes to £133.06

I found them via an ebay seller Dennis Winters nr Beverley ... looks like they sold their 10 sets pretty quickly ... I have been looking since last winter, as like you say, everyone is sold out. That doesn't like a pleasant to a ride! Where have you got the SKS's from please ? So far this and last month I've bought:
UN55 BB
3m of grey cable outers
Gear and brake cables.
Cable outer end caps.
Some old STX-SL MC38 8-speed shifters.
XT parallax hubs and M231 rims.
Some 3DV bar ends
Some purple flight bottle cages
two NOS 3dv Onza Chill Pills
some wet and dry paper in grades from 240 to 2000
But then I am rebuilding my old bike.
Still need to get a cassette, chain, seat post and seat.

Just bought these little beauties to replace my 3 y/o 40k miles Bont's. Bont's were great but are racing shoes, stiff as a peado on a school-bus and flipping painful if worn for more than 3 hours on a hard ride. Decided to try something different, tried new Bont's, Fiziks, Giro's, Sidi's and a few others but these felt best - won't know until I get some miles on them but love them so far!
Best of all Tesco are doing a clubcard rewards exchange with Evans Cycles for 1:2, so they cost me nothing in 'real' money which is handy as they retail at £260!!!!

Where are they available in November?Just paid the deposit on one of these. Kinesis 4S Disc with 105 hydraulic groupset and Kinesis wheelset. Should find out tomorrow when I can expect it - the shop I'm buying from said the first batch sold out very quickly.
This is to replace my current 'winter bike', which is the first road bike I bought (Specialized Allez). The current (rim brake) 4S gets great reviews so hopefully this new disc version will provide a good few years of happy riding.

Bought a while ago but only just fitted to the winter hack.

It's a ring of LED lights that attach to your wheel via a set of spoke clamps, an accelerometer and a magnet on the chainstay ensure that only the rear-most LED's illuminate and brightens then as you brake.
Bit of a faff to fit, and I'd not put them near anything I was planning on mega mileage as they unbalance the wheel and add 250g, but for rear visibility on my commuter (and 2016 Dun Run bike) they are great, real conversation starter too.
Got hit with the import duty so they cost me £28 more than the expected £65 but I'm happy with them and am considering the front set.
