Another wheel wear-er here. I've gone through a rear Campagnolo Zonda in 5000miles and 11 months. The free hub had collapsed but the wear on the rim meant that a repair became uneconomic.

So I've bought a Shimano RS11 to put on my Defy as it will soon be a 'winter' or 'training' bike when I buy a 'summer' or 'race' bike. I also needed a new set of rear pads - can you spot a causation link between these purchases...

Not cheap, but 200 hour service intervals and very little in the way of problems reported mean I'll be able to ride my bike more and spend less time waiting on warranty repairs and that's before we get to the performance boost,
They change colour! THAT'S ACE!!

£9 for two slithers of rubber and 2 clips for my Chris King BB seal replacements............ lets hope the old ones were knackered then and hope this keeps the water out the bearings. DT Hub is appearing today , so whats the chances of the rim and spokes coming from CR as well, so I can wheel build while watching the rain stream down the window tomorrow ?

Just ordered my new Kite Disc frame:

It's going to replace the Diverge which was bought as a bit of a stop-gap until the Kite was released. I've been after one for about the last year or more, I just hope it's as good as I want it to be

I ended up ordering another 2 of the feedback mounts I posted above. One for the CX to go below the Grade and another for the Pro C to go in the lounge.

Not quite sure where the Crush is gonna go if I do get one hehe

Am on my way into Soho to go and chat about one at Soho Bikes as we speak.

I wish, then I'd feel less of a nutter for the money I paid!

New P7 looks to be only £50 more per build and it's lovely.

Well the credit card has just taken a beating. Not so much as bike bits more of a new bit, as in a Scott Addict R4 for GBP 1,082 delivered to Dubai. Oh also ordered a new pair of shoes (Northface Sonic SRS), 2 bottle cages and Garmin cadence emitter / transmitter.

5-10 days delivery, I just hope I get back to Dubai before it arrives.

New wheels for the Cube. Wore out the original rear wheel bearings, cones and hubs knackered.

One of the few benefits of riding an outdated 26" bike is replacement parts seem cheap. £90 for a new pair of wheels with Deore hubs, delivered next day!!

Forgot to order rim tape though!
£3 on rim tape from Edinburgh bike shop this morning, £10 to my local bike mechanic to swap the cassette over and an afternoon of swapping tyres, tubes and discs over, and the Cube is back on the road. smile

After being impressed with my Gabba convertible jersey, a combination of vouchers and sale prices, I gave into my Castelli weakness and ordered a Fawesome, not sure I need it but I like the idea, surprisingly reflective to.

No ride yesterday due to the weather, so headed to the Rapha outlet, was pretty empty of stock tbh, did get some chartruese winter gloves for £40 though.

Gone a bit mad over the weekend, a pair of latex tubes, a pair of Bont Vaypours, the gloves and I bagged a pair of lightly used SS Speedplays and cleats on eBay for £68 last night - 2 pairs between 4 bikes just doesn't work!

Only boring maintenance stuff this week ... Jagwire brake and shifter cable kit, hope headset bearings, 6800 freehub, chain and cassette. I say boring, the winter bike now shifts and brakes just like its supposed to now after that refresh. Chain snapped last week 45 miles into a 94 mile ride ... was getting to the point of needing replacing so thought I'd do the cassette as well ... freehub was making a noise and not engaging properly causing a loud noise when it did. Doesn't look serviceable so had to replace the lot frown

I've just bought a couple of water bottle cages and a second Garmin Edge speedo/cadence kit for my new MTB bike, a 2016 Scott Scale 910. My first 29er. Oh, and new pedals; Shimano XTR Trail.

I ordered a 2015 model on sale but they didn't have my size so did a deal on the new model instead.

It replaces my 16 year old Giant ATX 880 - which is actually nearly scratch-free and in excellent condition so will be keeping that too; haven't bought anything for that bike in years.
