Another new BB for the MTB after the current one decided to seize almost solid after last weeks almost dry ride!!

Sadly there's only one BB that fits the bike from what I can see and there's no way I'm splashing out for new chainset, powermeter and Q-rings to replace the current set-up so I'll just have to stick with my 6 monthly BB replacements eek

A pair of these:

Salisbury Plain slop had seen off my rear hub so it seemed only natural the remedy was a new set of wheels hehe

Actually bought them just after Christmas and it seems the paln worked. SWMBO didn't notice them on the post-Christmas credit card bill.

Fitted them on Tuesday along with a new set of Racing Ralph tyres.

My pedals have been delivered and await my return, and I've dispatched Mrs Johnny to Rapha London after work to pick me up some of this

Will fit tomorrow and, hopefully, get out for a few miles. Will even wear my new Giros if the weather is as good as predicted.

Just received these...

New Floats to replace the very tired 4-y-o items I'm currently mangling.

Am now sending them back as I clearly had a brain fart and ordered 120mm instead of 140mm. Fox can only be shorted, not lengthened. Arse.

Mine arrived yesterday, far too bright for a London commute & i'll just use it as a torch but i do like the back light ,

Still a bargain IMHO

Nicely boxed thumbup
Tried it last night. The back light kept turning off at random intervals. The Front kept stepping through the different light settings on every bump so it will resigned to torch duties.

I bought a used Gore thermo oxygen jersey in blue on EBay. Right size and the right colour. I don't care that I've just bought a used Jersey. Decent gore jerseys are expensive and ones in the sales are usually the odd sizes. Paid £25 including postage 😀

I used to believe that DHB were the only brand that I ever needed, but I've bought a gore Jersey last year and I got another for Christmas and I much prefer the cut of the gore stuff and I think it's better made, but so it should as the decent stuff is usually twice the price of the equivalent DHB Jersey.

Very nice. Still haven't had the chance to ride a plus bike yet.

I've bought a Sram Blackbox Ceramic BB brand new at less than £20 and an entire very lightly used SLX drivetrain for £77. eBay can be ace.

I don't have a bike for the the SLX stuff though, which probably makes it less of a bargain...

After a hiatus of spending following the last bike build it all starts again.

The rims on the Fulcrum Zero's are shagged, during the last trip to Tenerife I was thinking they would have to be retired for good. A quick trawl around the web and it seems for what they're going to cost to get rebuilt it's just not worth it. A set of 7's are fine to trash every 24 months but it seems daft to invest money in high end factory wheels which can't be easily rebuilt?

So. DCR wheels are building up a set of Ryde rims with a CCS coating, Tune hubs and Sapim spokes, they're going to be around 1300g with 24/28, more importantly I wont have to bin them when they are worn out. Good guy to deal with, matched the tyre prices etc, etc. Still comes in less than the Zero's FWIW.

Then the BB30 is being replaced again. As I have a powermeter already for it I don't really want to switch to Praxis, which would have been my choice to rid myself of the daft plastic cups. A C-Bear version is going in so we'll see how that works out, it can't be worse!? The bearings that came out were absolutely fked, the worst I have seen any BB, I guess that's progress smile

The local shop wanted £60 to do the job so I bought a Park BB30 tool and used some M16 studding to make a press. As it was the old bearings flew out, probably creaking as they went.

Next step is to switch the bike over to Di2, I have the levers left over from the Mason build as they were part of a groupset, it worked out cheaper to buy the cable braked Di2 set and hydraulic shifters on their own. For what they're worth to sell I may as well for the price of a loom, battery and pair of mechs.

I don't need it, and its extravagant, but I am debating trying to get hold of the H1 Madone frame to build a bike around - seems its out of stock everywhere, and I am wondering what the extra grand gets you over the H2 version...

I saw that as well - ordered about three months ago, so very happy to have gambled on an untried bike.Could be too much bike for me, but let's see what happens!

Just trying to decide what comes next, what bits should come off the tricked-out BFe, but the wheels will be the yellow Mavic Cross Max when they come out in 650+ size...

I believe H1 and H2 refers to the geometry, with H2 having a slightly higher stack height for the same given size (check though!) although still nowhere near Trek's "Endurance" fit as per the normal Domane. You comparing the same version?

Just buy the H2 in a size smaller and get a longer stem/handlebar combo

I've just splashed out on some bits for the Supersix:
Ultegra 10spd 11-30 cassette
105 5800 pedals
Fabric scoop Shallow Elite saddle
Pair of Gp4000s in 25c
Lizard skins DSP 3.2mm bar tape

I'm very tempted to buy a new set of Ksyrium Elites to upgrade my Aksiums but I keep telling myself that it's not worth the money!

Surely they would not be wanting a grand for geo?
