I should be training for the Etape too, but I bought a scooter recently, and the weather has been a bit rubbish for the last few weeks so I've done absolutely nothing. Must hit the mountains tomorrow morning I think.

Is that a latex tube? I would not recommend them for the Etape. I've had several explode on me, which is rather scary. Lucky for me it was only ever the rear wheel.I'm doing my second L'Etape du Tour. Training at the mo.

I know someone who had their front tube explode (latex tube again) and that didn't end well.
Sram force calipers
Front one deployed via some dedaccciai carbon forks onto my storck frame due to the integrated brakes in the scapula forks it had being too low power to really be safe on carbon rims. Can stop on a dime now!
Rear caliper sat here on my desk waiting for a use to be found

Anyway, bike is now a pound (or 454 g) lighter. Now under 8kg, with pedals fitted. That should be fine.

Missus will kill me if she sees me posting in this thread - I told her getting into cycling wouldn't cost much.
So far this week it's been a pair of Shimano M065's, a Decathlon jersey and a Topeak Hexus II 16 bit multitool. Now on the hunt for a brightly coloured (yellow preferably) but dirt cheap long sleeve jersey for the late evening rides home too but can't find anything.

Same boat I was in this time last year, spent hundreds since, she knows it's a lot but not HOW much!So far this week it's been a pair of Shimano M065's, a Decathlon jersey and a Topeak Hexus II 16 bit multitool. Luckily I cycled years ago so I tell her a lot of stuff is what I already had & of course she wouldn't remember, it was years ago lol!
