New fine weather wheels to fit my road bike! Fulcrum Racing 3
I'm doing my second L'Etape du Tour. Training at the mo.
and also ordered to suit...
Tyres - Michelin Competition in 23mm
Tubes - Michelin A1 Aircomp Ultra-Light
Cassette - Ultegra 10 speed with 11-25 gearing
Brake pads - Roadstop BBS-03A
Is that a latex tube? I would not recommend them for the Etape. I've had several explode on me, which is rather scary. Lucky for me it was only ever the rear wheel.I'm doing my second L'Etape du Tour. Training at the mo.

I know someone who had their front tube explode (latex tube again) and that didn't end well.
Anyway, bike is now a pound (or 454 g) lighter. Now under 8kg, with pedals fitted. That should be fine.

I've been running them in Corsa SC in my Master with no issues and the pro's seem to do ok running them in tubulars.

Why would you not run latex tubes?

I just thought I would stick with Butyl...I read good reviews on the Michelin ultra light ones, and I couldn't really think of any reason to change to latex!I've been running them in Corsa SC in my Master with no issues and the pro's seem to do ok running them in tubulars.

1. a new inner tube to replace the one I deflated thanks to a kerb (more because I ride like I did when I had a raleigh burner, age 11!)
2. a new rear spindle due to snapping a few MM's off one end and bending it too!
3. a tin of spray on oil stuff?? as the components that should not be bone dry, were bone dry!
4. Not really bought but the words of advice about how mountain bikes are built for going up and down mountains, and not bumping up kerbs!
Said puncture happened last Saturday night. Having to use my legs from then til 10am this morning was absolute TORTURE!! Greater pain than having both my legs removed. I really do feel more freedom from two wheels than I did from four.
(all the above was from my local indie bike shop. Really nice fella who didn't treat me like the numpty I am!)

First big purchase from Evans today, as Wiggle didn't have the Ultegra levers in stock and they even let me add some extra bits for a colleague over the phone after the online order was placed. I'm impressed so far, even though they're website kept forgetting the cookies it had left, logging me out and forgetting which country I was in.
Other than the cassette that'll be all the 105 bits upgraded on my CAAD10, I'm only doing the front mech as it means I can swap the full 105 gear set onto something else. I've had a tiny bit of knee discomfort the last couple of long rides so I decided that justifies the Speedplays, I'm looking forward to trying them out, and if I'm buying new pedals why not get new shoes at the same time hey

Had this YT Tues CF for a wee while, it's Kelly McGarrys 2015 Rampage frame bought from him not long before he sadly passed on.
Awesome - was this a fundraiser for Baz? I seem to think I saw in on PB - I have definately seen your bike on there.RIP McGazza - guy was a legend - and even taller than me (by 1") and so was an inspiration in that lanky dudes can still send it. I even bought a Tues.

Spot on, it was for the Paul Bas injury thing. Part of the reason i tried to get this was that it was the only large of the 4 team bikes and if it was big enough for Kelly it would be great for me @6'4"RIP McGazza - guy was a legend - and even taller than me (by 1") and so was an inspiration in that lanky dudes can still send it. Quite an odd feeling to be riding around on a frame previously owned by one of my heros
Thanks

I've got a couple of Oakley replaceable lens cycling sets, and really rate them.Their new "Prizm" tech sounds interesting, and for the same money as the Rapha ones, I think they'd be worth a look. Certainly if you're thinking about spending that kind of money, it might be worth considering...
(Also, it's not too far from the Rapha cafe off Regent's Street to the Oakley store in Covent Garden.)

I probably belong on the council thread... I can't stand the look of those Rapha glasses!
I have 2 pairs of choakleys I'm told just arrived and waiting at home when I get back from work. I ordered them 3 weeks ago.
I do wonder what they's actually be like? I keep telling myself that next time I'll buy some bolle safety glasses but I never get round to doing the sensible thing.
I also have some bits for my new to me Colnago just arrived to get ready to do the Castle100 sportive this weekend.
- a cateye bracket to make my rear light fit the aero seatpost.
- 11-28 Shimano 105 5700 cassette (to replace the 12-25 which isn't so much fun on the hills).
- ultegra chain (because new cassette)
Wiggle order - I doubt any haribo will remain by the time I get home from work if my wife or 3 sons remember there might be some in the box!
I also ordered 2 ass savers to pick up from Halfords one night next week. They are probably a bit useless, but for £1 each I thought I'd keep one handy in case I end up doing a rainy commute.
